Great weekend !! Thank Frankie! Also special thanks to Ted. We had an evening dinner planned for Saturday evening by the lake and Ted volunteered to make sure we were bug free. He used his SA to destroy as many bugs and mosquitoes as possible. You can see from the photo he was most successful.

    Ill post more pictures later.

I woke up at 4:45 am Sunday morning and couldn't get back to sleep so I packed up for a run around the northern end of the penninsula (close to 200 miles) to catch the Kingston Ferry. I actually made it home in time for the last 20 laps of the F1 race.

Total mileage for me this weekend was 576.

There is a definite advantage to early Sunday morning drives.
Here are some shots of Lake Cresent from a very cool twisty road along the shore.

There was a guy out there water skiing when I got there. Perfect conditions but I bet it was cold as hell!!

PS. The Rangers were up early too and so was their RADAR!!

Ahem, this was the second time I missed this drive. Seems like you folks had wonderful fun!

Maybe I can get the Seattle to Portland bicycle ride changed to another weekend next year so I can attend the drive… Ha! ;-)

    Ted has a different policy than Tegeler on washing his car;
between the two of them their cars are washed 50% of the time on average, Dave's is always washed....

On the way back we stopped for gas and I was able able to extend my Thank You for borrowing Ted's jumper cables by washing his windows while he was inside buying a soda. Ted's passenger, Miss D, said it was a refreshing change but that I should hurry up before Ted gets back as he might shun such an act.

    That's Frankie's new ride.

What a FUN weekend trip, Sue and I had a blast!!

Sorry that we didn't get a chance to say good bye to everyone on Sunday morning. I strolled out to the parking lot around 9:30AM and all of the Ferraris were gone, except for mine and Mark's (Dino).

We had a nice breakfast with Mark and Julie and then we walked down the road a bit to look at the largest Spruce tree in the world. It was HUGE and it makes the world's largest Douglas fir (which we saw on Saturday's hike with 14 other people) seem small in comparison.

That was two years ago, Kuzi! Time really flies. :)

I rewatched the DVD from our run back in 2004. What an incredible drive!

For what it is worth, Lorrie, our server for dinner, was working at breakfast too, the next morning.
She said that this was the best & most fun group she had ever worked with. Therefore, I hope they were influenced to let us come back.
I wrote a thank you note to them today. If you like, you can too, at

I can't get a sense from the few pictures how many cars (and drivers) went on the run?

I'll be doing that. The staff bent over backwards to get anything we wanted at a moments notice. Truely a great experience.

I want to go back and do some serious exploration of the rainforest.

Every turn was sweeping, predictable, and very well surfaced. A favorite amongst 12 cyl fanatics like Ted and Romeo who did repeat runs.

His hand is moving so fast that it is blurred in that photo.

Whether the car is moving or stationery, DT is quick. Carolyn T took an amazing video on a "brisk" run down the Moclips highway including passing multiple F-cars. Although the highway is 22 miles long the video length is just a few minutes in duration.

I was behind DT/CT at the reservations desk during check in and heard Dave ask where the car washing hose was BEFORE he received his room key.
The man has set his priorities.

    Great photos, Byron!

I shot some video while driving with the Ferrari mounted cam as well as some "close up and personal" conversations immediately after the Moclips run when adrenalin was high.
    Very revealing.

Frankie will be editing and making a DVD of it.

PS - For a nominal fee you can convince Frankie to omit yours from the final cut
