Wow! Does this thing sound incredible! Wireless remote to change between settings, and no resonance whatsoever with either Stage I or III. It's even better than I thought it would be. With all of the talk about how loud Stage III is, I was afraid the car would become unpleasant to drive but from what I heard today, no problems whatsoever.

Thanks to Evolution Motorsports in Scottsdale for a great job on the install.

Well let's see what this looks like.

Put some miles and pressure on it, and a chance for a better description of the sound?

It comes with a remote control key fob that allows you to switch from Stage I to Stage III with the touch of a button.

I've put about 1000 miles on it (trip to Vegas and back) and it still sounds great. Still no resonance on either setting.

That is great to "hear" ! I love the exotic look of the Capristo. They are not
the boring single canister. I had the pleasure to meet Tony Ta and hear his Capristo III on his Yellow 360 and it was a raw, race car type sound. Has anyone mentioned flames shooting out the back when it is in the bypass mode?

    Question for ya....

With the Ferrari OEM exhaust that feature a bypass valve (vacuum actuated)...you can clearly hear when the bypass valves open & close...they snap on & snap off...very distinct sound & difference in the sound. It goes from mellow to LOUD in an instant.

Does your Twin system do this too?

I'm VERY glad you hear you are so happy with your system, especially the lack of drone/resonance...perhaps that's intrinsic to just the stage-3. Let's hope!

Steve, I spoke with one of the site sponsors and was told that the valve is adjustable to tune the sound for ones personal tastes. That sounds great if it could be put on a dial :) Sort of a manettino for the exhaust. I am currently in 360 exhaust hell and am willing to try any or all of them.

Any chance of some pictures and explaination of the valves fitted?

Reason I ask is that I have a Capristo fitted. Its absolutely fantastic sound, I just love it, but I dont have any valves on mine. My pipes look exactly the same at the exit of the car but they are straight, no valves. Can I buy valve version of the pipes?

I could ofcourse get the stock 360 end pipes bolted back onto to the Capriso system but they look so boring compared to the nice capriso end pipes.

Any idea's what the fitted did on your car?

    Trev,
On the pictures I have seen of the twin sound, the cats connect to a pipe
with a valve on it. When the valve is open, the exhaust goes straight out the
tail pipe. When closed, the exhaust goes up into the muffler, then out the other tips.

Tony....as you sit there roasting in exhaust hell...take a look over across the room and that's me waving at ya! ;)

    The stock system is BORING.....

The Capristo stage-3 (that came on my car) had a drone/resonance between 1,5000 - 2,700 rpm that was too annoying when the top was down. Even a few hardcore Ferrari buds who post on this board told me straight-up to dump the system.

The Challenge Stradale system sounds great on the top-end, but like a lawnmower at the bottom-end. The bypass vavles snapping in & out are annoying and this sytem is getting the boot.

I'm looking at what will be the 4th system for this car. Now what was that you were saying about being in exhaust hell???? Stand down my friend, you've just been owned. ;):) (kidding).

Let me shed some light on the Twin system adjustability. Yes, it's adjustable....but there are 2 different areas where it can be adjusted. When the bypass valve is closed a small bolt/set-screw can be adjusted which opens-up the valve a bit to allow some sound to get out. This would be your bottom-end setting. My understanding is that some owners feel the system is a tad bit too quiet on the bottom-end (at idle) and as such Capristo offers this unique bottom-end adjustable setting. FWIW I also found a way to do this on a stock bypass valve by merely adding a lock-collar on the shaft of the valve.

The 2nd setting on the Twin system is the done through the remote and you can determine at what point you want the bypass valve to entirely open. This is where the muffler is entirely bypassed and exhaust coming from the cats runs straight-out through the inner pipes (no muffler interaction). I had the same configuration on my CS exhaust system. Yes, it's loud and gets attention....but the bypass valves just snap open and the system just bellow-out a loud raw sound. As many people warned me, it's just loud like a "Stock car".

I realize this isn't entirely popular for me to say, but we express opinions here on F-chat for all to interpret as they wish. The sound coming from a completely muffler-bypassed system is RAW, LOUD and just plain COARSE. It's not pretty, melodic or tuned. You don't really get an escalating pitch which evolves into a shrill or scream....you just get 'snap'-LOUD. And that's why every CS owner I've met who has switched to a Tubi NGT will never go back to their stock CS system.

    I don't want a flood of pm's...so I'll finish this post.

I LOVE the sound of the Tubi on the bottom-end, but it just doesn't open-up and blossom into a scream...the best it can do is howl. The bottom end has a lovely rumble and sounds throaty, but next to the Capristo everybody walks from the Tubi.

The Capristo is a nice...but it's a scream-machine. While it has an unsurpassed top-end shrill, it doesn't have much in the way of a low-end rumble. I've met a lot of people who I've come to call "closet Capristo haters"....nobody wants to openly comdemn the system on the forum, but many feel the Cap's are tinny and annoying. Still, I think it's the best bet going and would still have one if it didn't drone the crud out of everybody when the top is down.

I'm looking into other systems. The Novitech is pricey, the X-Ost is appealing, but in particular is the Larini is very interesting. I should have some movement in about 3-4 weeks. If things don't work out, I'm gonna graft some bypass valves onto the inner pipes of my Capristo and just run with that. You'd think "who cares?"...but you'd be surprised; I've got about 5-6 other owners waiting patiently to see where things take me.

And ya know what...I'm thankful for every day that I can say one of my biggest problems is figuring out which exhaust system works and sounds the best for my Ferrari. :) :) :) :)

I'll still go on record that it's hard to beat at Tubi with hyper flow cats.

You are correct, however, when you say it doesn't quite open up into that F1 high pitched scream at redline, but it has the next best thing.. it has a "get the hell out of my way, satan is coming" scream that I love :)

The addition of HyperFlow cats probably does open-up the Tubi into making it a worthy and a good-sounding system. I don't doubt you Ray.

I have 2 very strong experiences with Tubi. One of my friends has one on his 360, and when he drives away from gatherings, doing the "power departure"....the exhaust note is entirely devoid of any excitement. It's just a dull muted roar. The pitch hardly changes and it's anticlimatic. Seriously, enthusiast look at eachother like "that's why owners leave the stock exhaust" (never realizing it's a Tubi).

The other experience was at a recent gathering where a guy was parked right next to me with his 360/Tubi. As we compared systems, it was blantantly obvioud that the Tubi had an amazing low-end growl....but when revved-up it just whirled louder and did nothing. Perhaps he had bypass valves that were stuck closed...it was that bad.

NOW...the Tubi NGT...entirely different system. I've only heard the bottom & mid (the oil wasn't warm enough for the onwer to let it rev-up)...but that system has potential.

This weekend I went and listened to the Novitech system (no valves) on the red 430 in their showroom. It sounded very good, but too loud for my needs. I didn't get to hear it wide open, which I'm sure is quite different. I'm pretty impressed with the products that Novitech offers. They appear very knowledgeable and have now super charged 9 of the 430's.

They are expensive, but. Has anyone else used their product?

    Thanks
