It's for pre-approved bidders only. So you have to contact the seller and then negotiate a price. He approves your bid and then you post it. Then the seller waits for someone else to call.

The seller can end the auction whenever he wants, and delcare whoever bid last, the winning bid.

This type of sale isn't really an auction.

"6400$" huhm... These really piss me off. Not because some low life looser has the opportunity to get some cash from an unsuspecting and unintelligent bargain hunter, but because EBAY will take 5 days and a lot of complaints before removing. Just for $*&#$ and grins I asked him where the car is and to forward service receipt.

I, like you, am starting to get a bit pissed off at all the ebay scams.
It is getting really old and making it really tough to buy anything there.

if you look at the "email seller" button, It is prefaced by "this user is registered on a foriegn Ebay" If you go to the the user ID and look at the ask question about another item you get a diferant address. This is difinately a scam. Ebay could do something about this type of thing but won't. I sent a email to the hyjacked real ID . We'll see what happens

If you send 6400$= , whatever that is, and do not get the car, is E Bay going to reimburse you since it is below the $25000 guarantee limit?

I don't think so, my understanding is Ebay will not do this. However, if I was fantabulously weathly, might be worth a shot.

Then again, if I was fantabulously weathly, I'd be driving my Enzo. :).

Are you kidding? Ebay could careless if you fall for such scams, it's buyer beware, and of course only an idiot would think this is legit deal.

I spotted this today and emailed the guy, asked him for some information. So far, no response. If I get a response, I'll post it. But it screams "SCAM" in big red letters from what I see.

If you want a response, sent him an email saying"The car looks great, how do I place a bid?"

he'll get back to you, then you can have all the fun you like with him. He will probably tell you that he made a mistake in the listing and the car is not in the State or even country he listed, but because it was his mistake, he will pay the shipping. That is when I start inventing relatives. The last time it was a father and brother in London, the time before it was a cousin in CA. Then the item will be in storage at the shipping company, so he doesn't have access to it, but it's ready to ship to you the moment you pay him. I've run into this several times on all sorts of items.

You should note though, that just because the price is low doesn't mean anything is wrong, it's an auction. When I use ebay I almost always put $1 as the starting price because the auction will get a LOT more traffic, people will mark it to watch at least and I can always just end the auction if it doesn't appear it's going to hit a resonable amount.

Thats what a reserve price is for.
You just end it if you don't like how it is going? I'd be careful admitting that out loud. A lot of ebayers get called dishonest or scammers for doing that.

People tend not be very interested in autions when there is a reserve and you get dozens of emails asking what the reserve is. It just doesn't play very well on ebay so I stopped using them several years ago. I've never had to end an auction because the item didn't get to a reasonable price, I mean there was an error in the listing, but it is always an option.
