Hello guys, I'm a newbie and have just place an order for the F430 F1. As I've been a Porsche guy (997s) for most of these times, I believe I'm still fairly new to the Ferrari specs and the options (tough the list is shorter than Porsche). I have yet to spec the car and can't wait to do so. Would appreciate if you guys can suggest or advice what are the MUST have, nice to have options. I need space for a set of golf clubs tough! The car is primarily Rosso Schuderia with Cuoio interior. It would be great to see some pics of the Daytona style seats with Cuoio and beige inserts. Would anyone suggest beige or white stitching? Many thanks guys. It's a superb forum that I've followed for the past few months and the contribution is nothing short of Superb I must say. Anything would help. Thanks guys.
I can just see the responses now: 1. Use the SEARCH feature, this question has been asked many times before. 2. Your a Porsche guy and managed to get an allocation for a new 430? 3. Golf clubs - stick with a Porsche or get an SUV. 4. You've been following this forum "for the past few months" and haven't seen these same questions asked before? Must haves: power Daytonas & shields.
Go with 1) Red Inserts & Red stitching. 2) Diamond pattern stitiching on ceiling. 3) Yellow calipers & Shields
-Racing style sport seats (a must have IMHO) -Colored seat belts -Fire extinguisher -Painted calipers -PRICE the ceramic brake replacement parts versus the iron ones before you check that box on the order form.......you just might wanna know up front how much the resale market is going to hit you the moment you drive off the lot.......... -Contrasting stitching -Stereo upgrade -Shields
First of all get the extras you want.....not many times will you buy a brand new ferrari......not white stitching will get dirty in a hurry......actually not many extras are worth it. This coming from a guy that has a full extras f430 (carbon ceramic brakes, bluetooth, elecric seats, stereo upgrade, shields, spare tire, etc) the only indispensable extra I can think about are the shields, the cc brakes only if you're gonna use it for track days, bluetooth is useless....and the stereo upgrade is only worth it if you'll listen to it(which I never do preferring the engine sound).....but then again if something catches your fancy go for it!!, you'll need to have the perfect ferrari for you, nobody else. regards maximus
See this thread: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=126063 I have Cuio seats with beige inserts (part of the "Dual" interior option). Look at the dash--Cuio stitching. Not that you necessarily care, but heated seats are also no longer available (racing seats, as mentioned above, are toast as well). The only place to potentially get golf clubs in a 430 is behind the seats. Ordering the high fi option eliminates this, as the subwoofer sits between the seats. I have had 360's both ways--I do not think that the sound is much better with the high fi option--and to my ears, the 430 base system is much improved. I'd vote no shields--I think they screw up the lines of the car. I like power seats--very easy to more finely adjust the seating position, and it is one of the few options that my dealer considers essential for easier resale. Have fun--Scott
Shields are a must-not, IMHO. Also heated-seats (at least with Daytonas) -- they're next to useless; you can barely tell it's on. I love Ferrari's carbon-fibre, and think that the carbon-fibre driving zone looks incredible. Oh, and skip the mammaplasty augmentation ;-)
Thanks alot guys. Brit Blaster, I really do like the shields and guess that's in. Carbon fibre interior looks great especially the driver surrounding area option. Is the Carbon for engine compartment worth the dollar? CCB is out cause I'm not a hard core driver, I really think the std brakes are gd enough for me. Similarly for my Porsche too. Scotty, Thanks for the pics, they look wonderful. I'm thinking of going for something similar and may seek your advice later. That's what I'm intending to do with the golf clubs, chuck it at the back of the seats. But it appears that the space is smaller compare with the 360, true? I prefer the Daytona seats much better than the sports seats. Too harsh for me. Maxims136, Thanks for the advice, you said it. Not many times do you get the chance to spec a ferrari and I plan to spend some time studying this. Maineman, My allocation is for Sept 07 production. No problem here in Malaysia. He he hee Guys, Any of you heard that every year at September month production, thats where all the new upgrades such as software and etc with be done?
To my eye the space is the same. I don't unfortunately have the two cars to compare directly, though.
Paul--my seats work well. They are not quite as hot as others, but the adjustment is useful. Might be worth parking your can in another set, just to make sure yours are working OK.
Just an FYI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Leslie is a GUY. He posted on the North Cal forum and was posing as a girl in the Screw Diamond Car Care post. Then it turns out he is a GUY!!! Don't fall for it.......
I thought I'd give some input for my 1st post on the Ferrari forum. My recommended extra's and some reasons: Scuderia Shields - a nice extra to be honest, not a must have though. Painted Brake Callipers - a nice contrast between the wheels & brakes against the body. F1 Paddle shift - manual is nice, but from what I hear isnt too bad. Although the normal Manual H-shift is good. Carbon Fiber Dashboard - the most important option in my opinion, the grey one doesnt look good with the rest of interior! Matching or similar stitching to exterior colour - once again, a nice contrast. They are the must have in my opinion (except the F1 paddle shift). Things like CCB and Sports Seats are nice options, but arent must have items, and also more appropriate if your car is more of a fun car and not as much of a every day car. Stereo upgrade is up to yourself, but to be honest, the normal stereo is fine. The engine sound is good enough (3000-4000rpm and 7000-8500rpm are nice points). Leather on the back wall and footwell is really your choice, as it doesnt make much difference, its only if you like it that way. As long as you choose the carpet colour right, it will look fine. As for the fire extinguisher, its up to you, but you can pick up similar ones for cheaper because it doesnt have the 'Ferrari' name. Normal seats are fine, but if you like to keep chaning your seat with less hassle, go for the electric. But normal seats are easy and comfortable. Two tips: 1. Buy the tire sealant can stuff, so if you get a slow tire punkter and your air compressor in the front has run out of the pre-charged stuff, you have some spare. Its quite handy. 2. The air con system is a bit hit and miss, and we still havent mastered ours yet. Hope this helps, the F430 is a nice it of kit.
