I just bought a new laptop. I put firefox on it and now when I am looking at a page it will start to jump up and down a tiny bit. Like it has a twitch.

It started this after I deleted the little get started thing that firefox puts on there.

Anyone have any ideas? I hope this isn't one of the vista bugs or something.

I figured it out. Once I deleted the bookmark toolbar, that was left empty from me deleting that getting started thing, it stopped.

I guess it doesn't like having an empty bookmark toolbar.

I'm no computer expert, but I've heard that Vista and Firefox are clashing. Maybe an attempt at Microsoft to get back at Mozilla for creating a better web browser.

Now it is doing more weird stuff.

Everything will say I'm connected to my network but firefox won't open and my torrents won't DL. If I disconnect or turn the wireless switch off everything will start working again for a few minutes. And a whole bunch of firefox windows will open, the ones that wouldn't before.

I'm ready to take this thing back.

Recently the latest McAffee security center update I found was causing hanging web pages with Firefox. Dumped McAffee and everything seems fine with Norton.

It seems like with Microsoft stuff they're trying to gain more control of your computing and they're also dealing with hacker issues that complicate things.

This came with mcaffee and I think it is causing problems.

If I have any bit torrent client running it locks everything up that has to do with the internet.

I guess I need to find a torrent program made special for vista.

Bit Defender and AVG work fine with FF. Norton sucks. it took an IT friend of mine half a day to remove all the hidden files and programs Norton had on the computer. i will NEVER use one of their products again. Norton was in files and folders (hidden) that it had no business being in. not looking forward to Vista any time soon either!

I've got external hard drive filled with stuff. I have a bunch of top gear episodes that are .avi files. The windows media player in ths computer will not play them.

I can't find a torrent program that will work either.
