    Beautiful car, sounds great. I have one just like it, and I reduced most of the body lean by replacing the stock shocks/springs/ roll bars with modern hardware. My car now corners very flat. You may consider this, if you don't care about originality!

    I used Varishocks, QA-1 and Varishock springs, thicker Saner F/R anti-roll bars, Energy Suspension urethane bushings on all 16 a-arm mount points, and roll bar mounts (they have hard end links). The new shocks/springs weigh much less than the old Konis. I also have 17" Speedline 288GTO style wheels, increasing grip, and further reducing unsprung weight.

    I also intalled the Superformance UK quick steering rack-- increased steering input ratio from 3.3 turns lock-to-lock to 2.2 turns. A gain a 33%!

    Just some things to consider! Our cars look almost identical! These mods are not visible unless you get under the car..

    If you're an FCA (Ferrari Club of America) member, be sure to ask for a 10% discount if you order one... but be sure you use a credit card... the products are very good (I love my Stebro exhaust) but the company has been known to be flakey/slow on shipment sometimes.

    Wrong, it's the exhaust - a 4" dia. Supertrapp out the side. Closest thing to an open exhaust without getting thrown out of Lime Rock. (And my name is not Shirley).

    That exhaust looks mysteriously simular to my TimeValve.

    Enzo has to be smiling down from Heaven, thats wonderful to see these old cars being driven the way they were always meant to.

    Now on slalom courses, do they run these with standardised layouts that can be duplicated? I ask in the wonderment of what kind of times this car made around that course, and how it compares with other makes/newer makes, etc..

    Well,,, not easy to compete on this slow track with 4*4 cars like the STI and the EVO but the time difference was small...

    It is not dry sump.

    No, the track will normally be different every time you go, even at the same place.....they like it to be a surprise. Depending on how big the lot is, the times will go 40 sec to about 1 min. as the norm.

    As far as comparing, mine has always done well. There are many many classes to account for all the make of cars and all the mods people like to make. Tires are by far the biggest player, in a stock class DOT race tires will cut about 10% off your time, it's big. Changing springs or the rear sway bar throws you into street prepared class, messing with the engine gets you prepared, Street modified (pretty new class, a 308 goes to SM2), or Modified (full race car class). Because of my supercharger, I used to have to run Emod, but still managed a couple wins. Now I run SM2 and generally do very well, I think I've won about 3 out of 4.

    I can tell you this, when a ferrari shows up at an autocross, its a pretty big deal. People just seem to love to see them run hard.

    The slalom course we run is the one used by JCNA throughout USA and Canada. Same course exactly, so we can keep score throughtout the year for all the events and drivers. Time wise, I run about 42 seconds with the 308. The national champ runs a purpose built 12 cylinder XKE at about 38 seconds. For comparision, a 2003 Z06 ran just under 38.

    Last month we had several Ferraris with the Jags. It was fun watching a twin turbo 355 Challenge try to keep the nose pointing in the right direction. For these events, it's handling and brakes that make the difference, not HP.

    Where at in Israel do you autocross? When I've traveled there (Tel-Aviv, Tel-Hai), the most exotic car I've see was a 993-Turbo.

    I'll have to give you a buzz next time I'm headed that way...

    Interesting you don't have to wear a helmet. We have to. Solo II is fun and tires make a big difference. A couple years ago I raced my Jetta in EP...if I had racing rubber I definitely would've been competitive in my class :(
