    You've waited 10 months. Now it's here. Competizione will be holding their open house on November 3rd from 5-8pm. I'm sure most of you have already heard about it. But i just wanted to post it for those that didn't. There should be food and drinks and lots of cool cars. Richard will be there to retell all of his stories of jetsetting around the world in search of rare and magnificent cars. fernando will be performing free oil changes for the first 100 ferraris to show up. see everyone there.

    I will be there on the earlier side, I have my ten year reunion later that night. Also, I want to be sure to get one of the "free" oil changes! :)

    yes, you are invited. just kidding. i'm not sure why it took so long. i think when they first opened, they wanted to get everything installed and running, then they got swamped. everybody just came by on their own and word of mouth was all they needed to get off to a fast start. in fact, richard has told me he'd like to take the sign down so he doesn't attract as much attention! he seems to just like to keep quiet and let his work do the talking. i'm sure some arm twisting was involved to get him to do the open house.

    Ok, so this is a Saturday night from 5-8 PM. Is this a party type thing? Anything else going on after, or are there any bars nearby???

    Our Richmond gang can come up and get hotel rooms and just hang out if there it is going to be a big deal (they seriously should think about developing some business down here, as there are already a few guys that use them already and more asking questions).

    What do you think, Wetpet, get Richard and Fernando throw in a couple hotel rooms to entertain the out of town clients??? :)

    Could be a good market for them to wooo as of right now our 25 or so out of the 35 cars here in Richmond (the one guy with 10 cars is loyal to Steve Barney at Sport Auto) are split going south to Foreign Cars Italia or FoW. Worth developing.

    What do you have in mind? Someones home or go to a bar. I know the owner of a little resturant/bar about 7 miles away. decent sized parking lot and I talked with the owner and he said he would provide security outside for the cars Corner of Bauer Dr and Rt 28(Norbeck road). I'm assuming most will eat at Comp. and just go for drinks and appetizers so you are not really concerned about the food part as much as a safe place park the red cars and cold drinks. Advantage of this place is big enough bar for 20 or 30 people not including the resturant area plus outside tables if the weather is still nice, sutible parking lot where we could have a section roped off for FChat people right in front and he doesn't normally do a great Sat night business so we would have the place to ourselves pretty much and most of the other buisness in the shopping center is closed by then so ample parking. Nothing fancy but thought the fancy places would already be packed on a Sat night and no good place for car coral? Any thoughts?

    John, i think he is actively trying to get you guys up there. As stated above, he is not a marketing dynamo. It's been pretty much word of mouth from day one. He has been pretty much swamped from day one and has recently caught up so i think now is the time to work more on that relationship. he already does a few cars from down there and personally comes to pick them up at a very reasonable rate. The bottom line though is if you want the best mechanic on the east coast working on your car for less than the dealers, you only have one choice. (bias). As far as the open house goes, you guys a certainly welcome to come up and i'm sure we could put together a good time. If you guys confirm, they will get two hotel rooms close to the shop. Unfortunetly, the shop really isn't near much nightlife so you won't be talking the four seasons, more like holiday inn. Not that it's not worth it, maybe i'm jaded cause i hang around there every week. Between the cars that are there and the ones showing up, there should be more ferraris than the richmond show. With a few alfas and abarths too. The 5-8 time is flexible, we can stay after 8. The open house will be catered with plenty of booze.

    Be honest with you it is to see all you guys. The shop is good too, but really to hang out and do something fun and different. We can just stay at the shop past 8 if that works out. I know the cars will be great, too. Good times for many reasons.
