    Sorry if somebody has posted a link previously, but there are quite a few pictures at this site I've never seen. Much more interesting in my eyes than the usual "wrecked exotics" fare...

    Even though they are old lookin, get the engine fixed and they still book ass. Only problem is the parts for these are hard to be found and expensive so is installing them all. Thats the reason no one has bothered.

    I've read that a resto of a gullwing is shockingly expensive even to people used to restoring old exotics.

    Why would someone let these cars rot like that?

    I was thinking the same. How can a car get this way to begin with.

    Man, look at those TVR bodies. That big purple machine wouldn't be the infamous Speed 12, would it? I would easily suspect someone to try and build that up. I know I would.
    Supposedly, it's covered in dust because all the dust picked up in Dubai.

    It's annoying to see the US troops needlessly destroying cars out of Uday and Sadam's collections.
    Sure, they're not the most likeable owners in history, but it's not the cars faults. Why not auction them off and use the proceeds to help rebuild sanitation and medical infrastructure in the country? Well... that would require more than the iq of an average softball I guess...

    As an ex US troop I've had some mixed emotions in regards to the destruction of these "high value assets". All assets (weapons, bullion, caches of cash, vehicles, etc) are reported up through the proper channels. Retention of these vehicles for disposition in a means suggested would have been very nice indeed but unfortunately the logistics (transportation costs, assigning security protection in a war zone, etc) do want warrant it. Protecting the Baghdad Museum was difficult enough;

    "When asked why the U.S. military did not try to guard the museum in the days after the invasion succeeded, Gen. Richard Myers, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said "If you remember, when some of that looting was going on, people were being killed, people were being wounded.... It's as much as anything else a matter of priorities." Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld, who described the period of looting in general as "untidiness", said of the museum's looting, "To try to pass off the fact of that unfortunate activity to a deficit in the war plan strikes me as a stretch." Secretary of State Colin Powell said, "The United States understands its obligations and will be taking a leading role with respect to antiquities in general but this museum in particular."

    If I were to stumble across an abandoned/ailing/dying thoroughbred in the midst of a war zone a decision, along with its resulting consequences, would not be taken lightly.
