http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110214999099&ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:MOTORS:1123 Granted it's euro but for 11k on the odometer and all service up to date and records, this is a great deal for 95k.
There had to be some major issues with that car. There are more disclaimers on there than there is description.
Fairly standard and proper business. Buyer should always beware and do their do diligence prior to bidding or purchase.
Come on now guys... All of you are owners so obiviously, you want to protect your assets. Honestly though, how bad can that car be for 95K? Seems like a steal to me. BTW, alreay sold via Buy It Now. Can someone run a Carfax?
It is dirt cheap. Wish I saw it before I bought my spider as I intend to drive the car alot. It is funny that the car looks dirty in pictures intended to sell it (trunk has junk in it, passanger side has a wire or something hanging from under the dash, tool kit is in bad shape, flashlight is missing, looks like someone put out a cigarette on the side mirrors adjustment button on the center console). The driver side seat bolsters look pretty sad and the engine compartment looks like it was wet and air dried. Still I could clean it and redo the seats with the diff on what I paid, and my 5K car will hit 11K in another year, and I don't give a hoot about euro. You'd need a PPI. Took my car to the shop for its first real spiff up and a $1K estimate became $1.4K and the thing took four weeks. I could easily see how repairs could eat up any savings if the car had issues.
I hate to say it because I am considering selling my 360 spider in the near future, but that price is a STEAL and if it didn't sell I would consider buying it and keeping it as a daily driver. For $95,000 you are lucky to get a coupe let alone a spider! And as for the fear of accidents, a good inspection could reveal if there was previous damage, but again for $95,000 you could keep the car for a couple years, drive the hell out of it, and your depreciation would be minimal. Someone stole that car....wish it was me...
My Brother in Law is the one who purchased the car. Hi is flying to Miami to be there for the PPI He talked many times to the seller and says he is a straight shooter. The only negative was that the rear quarter had been dinged by his sons baseball so there may need to be some work done there. He actually negotiated 92k for the car.
Oh, don't get my comment wrong. I agree that this is a steal for this car, even if it needs or had had some body work done. I'd be interested in hearing some feedback from the new owner once it is gone through.
No worries DMaury I didnt take it that way. I too am interested in the outcome of the PPI. My B.I.L. called me last night and asked me my thoughts. I told him to pull the trigger, fly down for the PPI and then decide. All he is out is $1000 non-refundable PayPal deposit. The seller agreed 100% so I cant see there being much wrong with the car. He also mentioned that the major had just been done with full doc
Whats the story behind the "fire sale"? Did the seller need to liquidate quick or what? 92k I would think he knows the car is worth substancially more then that.... Even a dealer would have given him more then that on a trade in. Congrats again on the purchase, he got a great deal- Goes down as one of the best deals I've seen....
Those cars are falling out of the sky now that the 430's are popping up. There's just no reason to take an unnecessary chance of buying such a car, even if it "passed" a ppi. I wouldn't get that thing, period. Spend a little more and get something with a history. You too will one day sell it and will have to deal with the spotty history. Man, I can't even imagine. Ferrari buyers are smarter than the average car buyer so there really are no real steals out there.
Next thing ya know, you'll be telling us "you get what you pay for" Why would any seller want to sell for less then the cars worth? Why would any buyer want to pay more then the cars worth?....everything finds it's equilibrium/balance and it's called the current market. Prices (of course) have been falling.....but that price seems well below the norm. If something sounds too good to be true, it usually is....we'll see. And what about the color...it's RED!???....that's not an easy color to move
Yea, those $275k 430s are dropping the 360 spiders to $100k and less. I can't image why you wouldn't spend the extra $150K+. Unless you cuold buy 2 360's for the cost of a 430.
my friend has a 00 or 01 360 and its got no problems, even has upgraded brakes.. and he paid 70,000 pounds for it a few years ago, now is selling it for 50,000 pounds which is 97,000 usd. seams fair to me.
I think the buyer got a steal on this one. the only caution I would have is if it is a scam and there really is not car for sale (to steal the deposit). If the car is available and someone bought it for $92k that is the best bargain I have seen on a 360 so far. Congrats to the new owner! The car was discussed in the Florida section here: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=182118 BT
