What a great week for automotive enthusiasts! The weather was spectacular! The events were a hit! The new friends and acquaintances were fun! The cars were cool!
To start the week, a 1400 km (800 miles) 1981 512BBi was delivered. The owner had it shipped directly here to get prepped for Cavallino, and had not seen the car prior to his arrival later in the week. the car was safely stored in the garage until the detailers could arrive to do some work on it....

On Wednesday another car was delivered for the same owner from Chicago. to get the blue 365BB out of the truck the driver had to temporarily put a BEAUTIFUL 330GTC on the driveway. I jumped at the opportunity to snap a few pics of that car in the driveway. I can always pretend it was mine this way!

BT, your hosting everybody at your home was just incredible. Total strangers, a wild woman, and beautiful Ferraris in your garage (yes, the wild woman was also beautiful). BBQ Thursday night was terrific.

You deserve some sort of medal. Thanks to you and Lisa for being so kind and gracious.

With the two boxers safely delivered, it was time to finish clearing out the garage to get my regular cars out of the way. One great side benefit of having guests that need garage space is that you get all the junk out of the way and really clean the place up! So, we greeted our guests that drove a 1968 (I think) 365GT 2+2 from Maryland (Mark Dempsey and Tom Yang), ran to the store, invited a few guests, and threw a little steak dinner. A big thanks to Ron Paul, David Eichenbach, Daniel Pass, Paul Hill, Craig, Todd, the Zaino rep from Kansas (I'm terrible with names), and my bro for making it over to join the fun! It was pretty funny having 10-12 people milling around a garage at 11 pm while some cars are getting buffed up for the big concours...

After lunch I went back to PBSCW and did not remember my camera. Great cars, fun people to watch, nice music. Way to go John T! After we got back home, we went out to a local carnival at my kids' school, then out for some pizza. Our house guests went to various parties, awards ceremonies, and local metalsmith shops... All in all, a great week, and a really enjoyable time meeting new people. Lots of great memories from this week. I'm already looking forward to next year!

BT, It was nice to see you and Lisa at lunch on Saturday.

I finally remember what the Europeans call the style motorcycle your brother has - Street Fighter.

Looking forward to hitting the road w/Steve on the bikes.

    Cheers

Bill, although my car wasn't one of the ones at your house, nor was I there..........I do have to commend you: once again, you have graciously opened your home, and your hospitality for the benefit of the F-car community. I am not surprised, as you are one of the most generous people I have met, and you're always amongst the first to stand up to offer assistance, invites, etc.... You are truly a first-class act.

Thanks! I am trying my best to make Florida a place where people feel welcome. I don't want an attitude of exclusivity to run rampant. To me having sports cars is about having fun and feeling free, not neccessarily about spending big dollars to have a good time.
Maybe next year I'll try the yacht hop / jet reception / parties on Palm Beach to see if I would enjoy those also.
It's a little bit tiring to do all this stuff, but the rewards of happiness for our guests make it worthwhile!
    :)

Sure, maybe next year we can make a steak out a regular thing. It was nice talking to you at the PBSCW.
Love the blue car (Ford GT40???).

I ran into Fchatter Geno Berns and his lovely wife at Cavallino. His beautiful pair of Boxers (red & blue) were a sight to behold. If I had to pick a car to bring home, the blue one would be a favorite. As if that weren't enough, his transportation to the event was the red Porsche CGT.

Not just any Lola, Mark Donohue's Lola. I watched it win at the Bridgehampton CanAm when I was merely an infant, still feeding off the breast.

I still do that today, but its much different now.
