I was antipating delivery of my Girodisc rotors (all four) last Friday and to start the install that night. Just after luch I get a email from Martin of Girodisc saying that there was an issue with the spring washer (Bellview style) and they would have to send new hardware. After talking directly with Martin, he said he would try and have them delivered to my house Saturday morning. Bummer, however around 10:15 I see the FedEx truck pull up. Wooo Hooo, yeah!!!!! I went a head and swapped the hardware. Most of the installation went well. Taking the rear parking brake caliper was a bit of a pain. I took my time and carefully got everything installed. Went to the near by highway and bedded the brakes. They feel good and it is nice to know there is less weight (with a bathroom scale, each rotor is 2.5 Lbs less). Along with my titanium wheel bolts, there is significant weight savings!!!! As a bonus, they look way better than the rusty stock ones. See their web site for additional benefits.

I've had the Girodisc rotors for a while now, and am really pleased with them. A word of (cosmetic) warning, though: Be careful what cleaning agents are used on the wheels! When my dealer washed my 360 after a service, something was used on the wheels that caused discoloration of the anodized hat. And nothing I've tried yet has made any difference in it.

Also of note is that the "gunmetal" color turned out to be a lot more blue than I expected from the Web photos. My own mistake, but had I realized it I would have chosen black or silver to go with my Rosso Corsa exterior.

Neither of these are big issues, since I'm interested in the functionality & will put the stock rotors back on when/if I sell it. Thought I'd pass it along, though...

Thanks for the info. I never let the dealer wash my cars.

I know agents that have lye (sp?) will attack anodize.

    docster,

You can have the the parts reanodized to almost any color you want. Perhaps when it is time for new rotors, you dissasemble down to the aluminum hats and send them to a local metal finisher who can do anadizing. They will strip the old off and bring on the new. I did this with the center sections of my three piece Kinesis wheels where I glass beaded all of the old anodizing off before bringing them to the metal finisher. They were not all that expensive, and it was done in one day.

Thanks, George; sounds like a good project to include during next winter's "down time."

    Cheers,
