    Gus just messaged me and asked me to post this...long time F-Chatter and friend to many Gene Berns has apparently passed away tonight of heart failure. He has been a good friend and mentor to many car enthusiasts and friends. He will be missed dearly. RIP Gene.

    I met Gene two years ago when I helped him purchase the Orange/Orange Murcielago Roadster. He was so excited for Supercar Weekend he left the car in Florida for a few months. Gene and his wife were by far the nicest people I have ever met. Gene eventually caught the bug for vintage Ferraris and last year was able to display his two concours BBs at Cavallino. He was a true car nut but most importantly a great friend. This is such a loss. I am so sorry for his family. RIP.
