I am looking for a car that would be eligible for events and that means PRE 57. The car needs to be somewhat on the special side so that it will be accepted; this means "Italian" most likely! Leg room and a little comfort would be ideal; and a coupe/Berlinetta would be preferable. Condition is relative to the price and
I would appreciate any and all help $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. I also am not part of the Bill Gates family so please keep this in mind.

The price range is very important.
Are you looking for a sub 100K euro car for example or can it cost (much) more?

    <100K :
    - Abarth 750 Gt Zagato (but hard to find an early one)
    - DKW Monza (nowhere for sale as far as I know)
    - Salmson 2300s (I cannot find one for sale)
    - Fiat 1100S (there is a Rapi-8V bodied car for sale in Germany for circa 120K, but I do not know how original it is)
    http://www.anamera.com/en/detail/car/24400/index.html?no_cache=1&ret=63

    - Ermini for sale at Movendi in Germany for 129K (but not original, so very difficult (if not impossible) to get in the MM)
    http://www.anamera.com/en/detail/car/23099/index.html?no_cache=1&ret=63

    - Lancia Aurelia B20 GT
    - Lancia Artena
    - Siata Daina
    - Alfa 1900

And visit the website for all other eligible cars (scroll down) :
    http://www.1000miglia.eu/inglese/home.html?http://www.1000miglia.eu/inglese/partecipare/informazioni/vetture_candidabili.html

If you have more money it is much more easy to attend this fantastisc race. Just buy a car that really competed in the original race.
There are some for sale at the moment.

    Some other possibilities :
    http://www.anamera.com/en/detail/car/31084/index.html?no_cache=1&ret=63

    http://www.anamera.com/en/detail/car/15735/index.html?no_cache=1&ret=63

    http://www.anamera.com/en/detail/car/24401/index.html?no_cache=1&ret=63

    http://www.anamera.com/en/detail/car/28588/index.html?no_cache=1&ret=63

    http://www.anamera.com/en/detail/car/27610/index.html?no_cache=1&ret=63

    http://www.anamera.com/en/detail/car/26756/index.html?no_cache=1&ret=63

Just search for "mille" on Anamera for example or one of the other car-websites.

It is one of my dreams to attend this race once, but I know it will be very difficult if you don't have a lot of money to buy a rare car. (like me)
I know there was a company in Italy where you could rent MM-eligible cars like an Ermini. But I do not know if you can do the race in such a car.
One week normall rental was like 9K $ a couple of years ago.

p.s. Every year there are about 1500 people who want to attend the Mille Miglia and own an eligible car. Only 375 cars can attend the race and a big portion is alway taken by factories and sponsors, so there are not many places for the 'normal' people left.

First of all let me say thanks for the Mirbach contact. I have been up and down the Internet and have never stumbled across them. The Gabone body is one of a few that are on the Internet. The red one which is not in Germany but in Italy is being represented by so many people as there own that it's impossible to get a straight answer. To anyone interested stay away from SUPERSTRADA TONY ERKER; miserable human being and highly insulting.
The other 1100 S which is said to be a Rapi body is a made up car. I had someone look at it and while nice anyone would have a hard time representing it as original.
Thanks for the help and i will let you know what happens.

    Regards

    Neil

The grey Fiat 1100 S MM at Mirbach has attended MM already so that is a good possibility.
Great looking car, I really love those cars!! It attended in 2007 if I remember correctly, I have pictures of that car.

But how much is that car?

@Vino : okay, so you are looking for a car like that?

Oh, that Rapi-bodied 1100S has done the MM a couple of times according to the seller.
So does that mean it can attend again? Even though the history/originality is a little uncertain?

I have done the event 11 times. Lots of fun but I have made more than my fair share of mistakes with the wrong car.

Call me when you have a moment. 619 840 7811. I have a client who ran last year. He has a car that he ran last year that is fully prepared, has the FIA HTP and FIVA documents and the organizers will never say no.... Price is firm at $27,000. I can assist with your application and entry as well as physical movement of the car to and back from the event.

    Cheers,

    Bill Noon

    11 times?? Wow.
And I will be happy with only one time :)
27.000$ for a car that can enter the MM??

"the organizers will never say no" is very interesting. Did the car participate in the original MM?

For me it is something I absolutely want to do in the future, but now is too early...
It sounds like a fantastic offer for Vino1620.

Car is for anyone who would like it. It ran last year and was invited back for next year. Simply the easiest and least expensive way for a non-resident / Italian to get in and go.

    Cheers,

    Bill

Chassis is genuine but is the engine? any engine number on the #500065 Rapi (have to check that VIN . :)) 1100 S with kogwheeldriven cams?

I have gone through all the fiat 1100 S and ES in the MM entries and have never seen the "rapi" 1100 S in the entry lists.. Not saying its not done it though but not in the last editions anyway..

Peters Schaads, Venezuela registred grey car is wonderful and has done the last 2 MMs (VIN 500163). Mirbach, hamburg is where it is for sale.. The japanse car #500160, is also nice, but for sale with about 4 dealers..... autoangelocase is one , google fiat 1100 S.. I hope to have my Fiat 1100 SMM/ES finished and entered for next years MM.. Usually the same 5 cars enter every year.. contact me if you need help locating one.. The 1100 ES entered this year with Alsessandro Bruni is also for sale, I can contact him if you want.. Think he wants 140-150000 USD Cheers Nik

My friend usually enters a Fiat 8V and an Ermini spider an rents them out . I think the 8V is about 12000 to 14000 euro with entry fee and support....

Car below is ES 500322. Bruni from Florence

Great information in this thread!! That Fiat ES #500322 is fantastic!
Those Fiat's are more expensive than I had hoped for though. But I really like them!

I have visited the MM retro race since 2000 and have never seen the Rapi-bodied 1100.

To all who have participated; i appreciate the input and don't stop.
First of all the Grey Car for sale is about $175 Euros which i think is a steep.
The red 1100 S "Rapi" is a weird deal. I have had the car inspected and investigated. It appears the chassis and the engine are 1100S while the body is a "Mystery" rebody. The price keeps going south despite the claims that it is a real car with the paperwork. I have pictures of the car supposedly running in the MM and some photos of the Fiva and other papers. What makes me leary is that with the change of hands and the strictness of the new operators things might be very different. If i could figure out how to post the pictures i would.
Any and all further assistance is gladly welcomed and it seemed to create quite a little buzz. I think the MM is probably somewhere on everyones BUCKET LIST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
