Just had a full wrap job done on my Challenge Stradale, thought you fellas over there may be interested.... its now been offically unveiled this weekend, this is the story behind the UK's first white Strad, albeit using Paintsheilds brand new product, paintwrap. This product is essentially film, but with a genuine painted surface unlike vinyl wraps. This means it can be detailed, T-cutted , zymolled etc etc like conventional paint.

Some months ago Tom @ Paintsheild asked for cars to try out a brand new product, so me being the inquisitve type, I pmed Tom and offered the Strad even though I had no real idea what it was, but given that I have used Paintsheild successfully on my cars for many years, I was reasonably comfortable it wouldnt be anything too radical.

How wrong was I??? After a short phone call, I went up to Toms place to view the various colours available for the fully reversible wrap, and settled on a sparkling metallic white. Pictures dont do this colour justice, in bright sunlight, or under bright lights it goes from a flat clean white into a dazzling sparking white, like fresh snow almost, it sounds bling, but its really really not. So the first shipment was ordered and the preperation from my end began, strpping door handles badges etc etc and I had the wheels refinished Chrome black...heres the process and end results

Best looking Stradale ever...! I love the wheels, I love the carbon fiber Scuderia stripe, and the white looks so intense...!

Can you post a close-up picture of the fuel filler cap...? I'd like to see how well the wrap was done around the prancing horse...

Very nice. I like the carbon stripes but would have gone for the CS stripe design not the Scud design. Nonetheless, sweet CS mate.

they are covered too, no red showing anywhere, awesome job.

The white sparkles in the sun, its got a proper metal flake in it, awesome! The fuel filler cap is perfect, I unbolted the little horse, then put it back on afterwards :)

Same company did it, Paintsheild. It did originally have a red and green stripe too, but they persuaded me that the carbon stripe looked really mean on its own...

    Looks great!

Wondering what were the specific steps they employed to remove the clear lenses on the head lights?

Top-notch job!!! It looks very good and I love the carbon fiber stripe! I'm very impressed with how thorough of a job they did. Wrapping the headlights must have been pretty difficult.

Wow, very nice. I had planned to wrap my Carrera GT white, but everyone likes silver and I had heard those color change wraps are good until you get within 15 feet.

A word of advice: my 997tt cab is 100% wrapped and that stuff is pretty delicate and fragile in the hot sun. Don't rub it with anything more coarse than a naked stripper's bottom when hot.

Looks great, the carbon stripe is a great detail.Makes me think a full carbon wrap with the stradale tricolor stripe would look outrageous.

Mines a bit better than that!! You cant tell until you get about 2metres from the car, but regarding the sun, this stuff is NOT vinyl, its a PAINT wrap, ie, its proper paint, sprayed onto film, it can be polished, detailed, anything. 40 degree heat at the Monaco F1 didnt touch it :)

It comes from your side of the pond guys....

    http://www.flxpaint.com/PDF_Files/FLXPaint_Catalog_US.pdf

scroll down to the colours, the Strad has been done in Atric ice ultra flake. It looks like a flat very sharp white until light hits it, then you can see the metal flake sparkling, its great.

Apparently mine is the first supercar(?) to be done with it, there are issues with some areas due to the curvaceous nature of the beast, but mine is the development car, and as such the stuff will be coming on and off a few times until they perfect it. Upside of that messing around is that its not costing me anything whilst I "test" the product to destruction on my car. :D:D:D Its already proven VERY resilient to stone chips on a recent high speed run through Europe to Monte Carlo!

I may be wrong but isn't the CS stripe painted on the car? When you say that it previously had the stripe do you mean that the car came from the factory without it, the owner then added an aftermarket stripe, then removed it?
