Finally after 9 months in the making, the day has come and I am packed and ready to go to the airport. The contaier is loaded, the cars are on the way and my cat, Indy, does not quite know yet what will hit her in a few minutes.
Gaby is staying behind to tie up some lose ends but I am needed at the vineyard.

A new adventure, a new perspectve and unfortunately leaving lots of good friends behind.
I know I have been somewhat scarce these days (sorry to you all) but this new adventure has demanded a lot of attention while wrapping up the warehouse and all the business ventures I had going here.

Cavallino Motors will continue as a web based dealership. I will do consignments, as before, through online marketing and give the same service to my clients, most of which have turned into dear friends.

For those that have travelling shoes on and love good wine (even good beer), come and visit. Argentina's Mendoza region offers the best wine climate in the world and is rapidly approaching the ultimate wine country in the world. Geographically there is no better place to grow wine.
Our new project down there taps into the wine market and the opportunities that lie in this undervalued region of the world.
Come down and vist. The Wine Lodge will not be available until 2011 but we have some great recommendations for hotels, lodges and even houses to rent for next to nothing. Through Gavilan Vineyards we have a special deal with Budget Rent-A-Car in Mendoza and also with a local car rental place.

So...7pm...I am off to the airport guys and girls.

Love you all and I will see you soon. Either there or back here to simply say hi.

Wow Martin. I had no idea. I wish you a safe journey and much success.

What will you be doing at the winery? (other than sampling :D)

    Good luck Martin!
Martin is one of the first people I met in the south Florida Ferrari scene about four years ago. He was driving at a track event at Moroso and offered to play host for anyone that wanted to stop by and say hi. My daughter Rebecca went with me to see some cars out on the track, and Martin was there in the motor home between race sessions. He cooked up some sausages and offered cold beverages to everyone that was there (I think Paulie_B was there that day too). After that he offered to take my daughter out on the track for a parade lap in one of his 355 challenge cars. She loved it! I took a picture of her in the car with Martin and she put it in her locker to remind her of that fun day. This is just one example of the generosity that Martin always displayed. Your welcoming attitude is one of the main things that has made the sports car scene in south Florida so much fun for those in our group. If you are ever coming back to Florida for some racing at PBIR you are welcome to stay in our guest room and borrow a car for local transport. I hope you enjoy the 'fruits' of your labor.

To an awesome guy which I have known for over 11 years. Martin thank you so much through out all those years of trusting me to work on your Ferraris and so many other amazing cars. I 'm glad that I was able to see you and Gaby this past Monday. Thank you for so many invitations to see you race. I know we will see each other again, perhaps in your new home town in Argentina. Hope you prosper in your new adventure. Your friend always. Eddy Fiuza

    Martin and Gaby -

Good luck and much success! I'm sure we'll be down to see you at some point.

When I first moved down here in 2004 my good friend and track buddy fom Colorado, Roland Linder told me to look up Martin when I got down here because he was "good people". I met Martin for the first time at the gokart track and we have been friends ever since. Lots of memories...racing tickets...the screamer...push starting the Spec Miata so I could make the main event! Martin has always been a gracious and helpful person regardless of the issue. He transported my track wheels/tires to the events for me, offered assistance, rides, advice, whatever I needed. Eventually, through his help and support I was able to get my competition license and begin racing competitively (although life got in the way of me bringing a 2nd championship to ICT Motorsports). Thank you for everything Martin. Wishing you and Gaby well in your new venture.

    Martin,
Best wishes to you and Gabby on this exciting new venture! Your absence will leave a huge void in the S. Fla Ferrari scene and at the track. But you will still be with us on FerrariChat, connected to the internet somehow...won't you? Hopefully you won't be that remote where internet access is only a dream.

How would your wines differ from wines produced in Chile? Is the climate & soil significantly different?

    Take care,

    KevFla

Hope the flight down was OK for Indy (not too worried about you - you can drink :D )

I'm sure it won't be too long before you turn a wheel at the track near the vineyard, maybe you can start a tractor racing series!

Having to scramble to make it to grid won't be the same without you... you did remember your "costume", right?

All the best to you both, and the greatest of success with the venture! Put us on the list for the grand opening, OK?
