Put the same components on any Ferrari of your choice and it will not sound nearly as good as the 355 ........... ;)

I feel with the engine sizes increasing, it will be difficult to obtain the wonderful higher pitched sound on smaller V-8s.

Said above with the bigger motors the beautiful 355 sound cannot be duplicated. The 355 without second thought is the best sounding. Magnifico!!!

As great of a sound sound as the F355 makes and it is great. I would rather hear a 60's Ferrari V12 with Weber's. Apples and oranges comparision I know, but I like that sound a lot more.

Everything in life is up to personal interpetation, except math.....2+2=4.....no matter where you are in the world. That being said.....In my humble opinion, nothing can compare to a "boxer 12" at "High" RPMS......I have a 1991 Testarossa with a custom exhaust I fabricated myself....."I" "Challenge" "Anyone" to having a better sounding Ferrari than "MINE"!!!.....SCREW "TUBI"!!!!!!!!.....Mark.

F50 GT starts at around 0:40. Makes that 355 sound tame ;)

The CS sounds fantastic too...right from the factory.

However, IMVHO, a V8 will never sound as good as a V12.

I've never heard an F50 in person under load, but all the video I've ever seen of it and audio I've ever heard of it suggests that it is the best sounding Ferrari of all time. This makes sense, since many claim the F355 to be one of the best sounding cars of all time due to the 5-valve per cylinder high revving (8500 rpm redline) makeup. The F50 is one of the only three 5-valve per cylinder F-cars (the other being the 360 Modena). Add to the F355's 40 valve sonnet, another 20 valves (60 valve total) and you likely have the best sounding car of all time under load. I am always amazed by the sound of my F355 with straight-pipes and Larini exhaust, but I can only imagine how an F50 would sound in person.
