Help needed finding the bodywork number on a 1965 275GTB

Hi - I am looking for the bodywork number (not the chassis number which we know).

Apparantley it is in an area around the drivers or passengers footwell near the sill or bulkhead?

Does anyone know where we can locate this number?

Any pictures or diagrams would be a great help.

The car is a 1965 275GTB steelbody, left hand drive, chassis number 07333

Hi, yes we have found almost all of these stamps, they are everywhere on the trim and upholstery. But on my car it is the chassis number that is stamped and scratched into these parts - not the Scaglietti body number.

Morning, we have buffed off the black paint on both these areas and there is no sign of any numbers - any other suggestions or help appreciated?

hi Matt, I have spoke to Scott Rumbold at Autosports, he has been very helpful and is sending over some documents relating to the car. I also managed to find an old web link when the car was at Autosport with lots of pictures, but unfortunately none of the body number.

The car is hopefully going back to Italy in the next month for a full bare shell rebuild, so if I cant find it by then, the boys will get it when its back to the bare metal.

Hi Matt,
Once the restoration starts I will set-up a thread so everyone can monitor progress, from strip down, through restoration, too rebuild. All the advice and observations will be greatly appreciated.

I have spent a lot of time going over the car with Joe (www.joemacariservice.com), we came to the conclusion it was such a solid, original base that it warrants a full restoration back to original spec!

The boys at the garage in London are going to drop all the running gear, brakes and suspension and the car is going to be sent back to Maranello, Italy for a bare metal repaint and chassis restoration. 07333 is going back to Argento Silver with the original red and black interior, but done in leather rather than vinyl.

When the car is in Italy, they will detail all the boot, engine bay, new wiring loom, refurb the dashboard, chrome etc - it should come back like a new pin!

While the car is away the boys in London will rebuild all the brakes and suspension on the bench (detailing every part), the diff is going to be rebuilt as it is a little tired and the engine (strong and not requiring a full rebuild) will be fully detailed. So by the time the repainted and retrimed body comes back everything will be ready to fit back together.

Very exciting times, just waiting to hear back from Italy, but there is a chance I can get the car there in the next month, meaning it could be ready by mid to end of summer.

Marco Zanasi is going to do the bodywork, paint and detailing. The Lupi Brothers are going to do the leather and the re-trim. Any chassis work, although we don't think it needs any will be referred to Marco Vacari. Chrome and small trim detail will be done by the local craftsmen of Maranello.
