I am passing through Nottingham next weekend (6th march) and i am hopefully popping in to Graypaul Ferrari. Do they mind if you just go in for a look around and also what are the salesman like, do they mind this or do they give the impression that they want you to leave if you dont purchase a car. Also just a quickie, checked out their inventory just and it appears the F50 is not there, it dissappeared from the website not long ago but then re-appeared again. Does anybody know that if the F50 is stll for sale or is it actually sold?

    many thanks

    adam

Graypauls are cool. Just go in and walk about, the staff leave you alone. There are always photographers in there taking pictures. Its a casual atmospher.

Maybe I look as poor as I am but for some reason the electric doors just don't open for me when I go to Graypaul. Or my friend for that matter. Difference is, he was going there with a pile of cash to spend and ended up going elsewhere to buy a Maserati privately...

So your alleged mate went else were because the electric doors did not open. Try going when the showrooms actually open ;)

Sorry, I thought I was being subtle. I meant that the staff didn't let us in.

Thats the first time i have ever heard that. the staff does not man the doors, so how come?
Graypauls are not like that, i have seen guys in there with old work clothes on. Some dealers can be like that but Graypauls are not. Unless you are camped across the road in a caravan and a tarmac truck parked besides. Or was pissed ;)
I bet if you go to the UK section and ask who has been turned away, you will not get one who has. strange you say you have.

It happened to both me and my "alleged" friend. Admittedly, we were both driving total heaps of **** at the time and I'm not exactly a suit and tie kind of guy but I just assumed someone on reception has a button to lock/unlock the doors for security. Maybe their doors were broken? I don't know... I'll get him to take the Maserati and see if it happens again!

I was in there about 2 weeks ago and the F50 was still there.

In my experience they are a friendly bunch there. A few years ago before I bought my 430 I was mooching around one Saturday and a dad with a small boy ( approx 12 or 13 yo) came in. They spent about 1 hour looking round. It was obvious they were only sightseeing. I struck up a conversation. Turns out it was the lads birthday and his dad had offered to take him anywhere he wanted. The lad chose the Ferrari showroom. Graypauls treated them with respect and didn't mind at all that they were only looking.
Later I spoke with the manager and he explained that they get this alot and they always treat everyone respectfully and make them feel welcome. They saw the lad as a potential future customer.
This actually happened so I am told. A long time ago a teenager came in to their showroom when they were at Loughborough. About 20 years later the teen was now a man, had made good in life and purchased a brand new Fcar from them. Thats a proper long term strategy.

You shouldn't have any trouble at all.

Yep, I'm bull****ting on a forum. Who'd have thought it?
In all seriousness, both things are true, the first was very funny when it happened and I can't blame them as they must get security problems down there (pull up when the showroom is closed and have a look through the windows and see how long it takes a security van to drive past).
The second is hard for me to believe too seeings he doesn't even have a garage and is about twice as scruffy as me but there you go. It's a red coupe and it's in Sherwood, if you live local. And it was bought privately.

I haven't been to Graypaul in over a year but there used to be a chap in a Citroen van that would pull up and keep an eye on people pushing their noses to the glass. Not quite sure why that would be 'interesting' though. I feel like I am under cross-examination with all these "hmm...interesting" and "alleged"s!

ok thanks, i check Graypaul's inventory very often and the F50 has not been advertised on there this year at all but that could be to with the fact that if people see it on the website then there could be a lot of timewasters going in, i have just checked their inventory and they have a 430 Challenge car in and a Yellow Scuderia 16M. Very nice!!!!
