Looks like it could be a deal, or not? what would a ECU cost and would it require any special programing or is it just plug and play? do the 348s have one or two ECU's? thanks im thinking about bidding.

Surely someone here will know the history of this car. Any guesses as to what it will fetch?

2 ECUs in our 348 (and 355 Challenge) Motronic 2.7 cars. This thing looks like "Franken-Challenge" to me. Still, for the right price, even the parts have value.

Looks like fun! But why would somebody do a full 355 ass-end conversion for a track car?

I don't know that aint no SCCA car. nitrous??? missing ecus? missing wiring to mafs?? one throttle position sensor??? wooden steering wheel? WTF? You could even have problems selling it as a parts car. At 10K if you wanted a racer well maybe I would still have to put in 10k to get it right for racing minimum.
    Cage rework $3k
    fire system 500bucks
steering wheel w/ quick release 500 bucks
    shock rebuild? 1000
    ecu's ? 1800each
    various sensors wiring harness? thousands???
out of date challenge seat new seat $1000
    brake pads rotors? $1000
    major service? $3000
suspension bushings $4000 is ferrari price
    tires $1300
    I think that's 17 grand.

If you wanted a streetcar it would cost you 30k

At least - I think 30k is optimistic if anyone is contemplating putting it on the road. I'm not sure if it is even worthwhile as a parts car looking at all the missing pieces in the engine bay, cockpit and coachwork.

What a shame as a US spec 94 tb is rare - I wonder if it started life as an SS or one of the very few Challenge cars that came over?

Yes, a person would have to be a complete idiot to bid on or buy this car. The costs would be astronomical and he would be subject to ridicule wherever he went. So my best advice would be for all that have previously to withdraw their bids and to warn everyone not to consider bidding. I would NEVER bid on or buy a race car on ebay. Those who know me know this is true. Again, do not bid on or buy this car. Heck, I don't seem to be getting my point across. I just may have to bid on it to keep others from making a big mistake.....

That was what came to mind for me. No side strakes, 355 parts on the rear end, and most everything looks in very rough condition anyway. Even as a track car, it looks a wreck (to my totally untrained eye). :(

I wouldn't go near bidding on that one.

I'm sure you could do something clever with this car, but for anybody bidding on it hoping to get a cheap Ferrari daily driver/race car your satire is actually pretty sound advice. :D

It will sell for way, way too much to a guy who wants to street it.

I sold a 996 based race car on ebay last year and EVERY SINGLE email was like "Can you estimate the expense to replace the dash, door panels and carpeting?"... My favorite was "Are the factory speakers still installed? Does the car have Bose stereo?".

Bose stereo?? The car had no dash and no headlights and no passenger seat.

Some guy in Oregon bought it and i honestly think he was going to try and "restore" it. The car was thoroughly beat, but at least it RAN unlike this 348....

The price its at is already WAAAAY too high!
I would guess that the guys who bought it from the auction, paid next to nothing for it.
I would also guess that whoever the high bidder is, wont complete the sale.

Okay, no, I'm not bidding yet. I gotta say, tho, that the price might not be out of line for someone looking for a track car. You guys seem to be looking at this as a street car and figuring in how much to return it to a concours vehicle. It's not. It's a race car. It's got a nice roll cage, maybe a nicely modified engine, an updated suspension (355), good brakes, expensive wheels, engine management system not motronic, etc, etc. So far, it's the cheapest way you're gonna get a 348 for the track, so whatareyall*****inabout? (I have no affiliation)
