Hi All - First let me confess, I'm not a Ferarri guy (not for lack of want, but for lack of funds), but a Porsche guy. Anyway, there is a family that both the Porsche and Ferrari communities have helped support recently down in LA. You can see the Ferrari thread on it here:

    http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=280968.

I've been working on a similar gathering with folks in the Portland, OR area for the family's return drive through Portland. I'm hoping to get as many exotics as possible (not just Porsche and Ferrari) out to show our support. They will be back through the Portland area around the 27th or 28th of this month. Speed Sports has offered up their lot as a gathering place.

There are more details on this forum page:

I heard about this on the ********** thread and it sounds like lots of Lambo owners are going to participate down in CA. I would be happy to organize something similar as they come through Puget Sound. We've got a lot of E@RTC guys who'd love to help out I'm sure.

I think it'd be great if we could arrange a "car show" for Alexander at each stop along their journey home. If you want to set something up in your area, let me know and I'll give you Susie's (the mom) contact info.

That would be pretty cool...maybe arrange an exotic escort for the family as they drive through the Seattle area?

Wait--where are they headed? I saw the thread RE: LA, but didn't note a connection further north. That was a great show in LA, and since I'm --uh, between jobs--I could certainly be involved in Seattle if a Mondial other than Rachel counts.

Great-I'll make a point to watch this thread. That showing in California is just awesome for that family and the Ferrari community as a whole.

Good News, Alexander is now signed up on the Pelican forum and soon we will have him on FChat. Please see the email sent to me below:

    Dear Haig,

I'm e-mailing you from my sister Susie McCormack (Alexander's Mom) e-mail. I went on to the Pelican parts forum and signed Alexander up, he is listed as: Alexander-trip. Not sure what to do from here or how to get to the right posting page to view what we saw in the little booklet you made up for Alexander. We are feeling a bit inept (our daughters are usually the ones who help us sort these things out, poor Alexander has had enough of us for one day... hehehe) We have had yet another exciting and exhausting day. We will have to try and get the pictures on to our lap top tomorrow and then hopefully we will have figured out how to navigate on the Pelican Parts blog. We will try and get in touch with you tomorrow.

    thanks, Auntie Bridget

Hey Peter - - ALL Mondials count :):) We were so close to Alexander's hotel in Burbank that Rachel almost drove herself over there :):)

What an amazing event - for all of us.

    Cheers, Hank

    Tommy,

Are you taking the lead on this? Have you contacted the family? I would be happy to help in anyway I can to make this happen for them as they drive through Seattle. I read on the SoCal thread that they are going all the way to Vancouver, so we should be able to pull of a great meet for Alexander here too!

    Cheers,
    Rob

I'm happy to help out. If you can find out when they are coming through the Seattle area, I can pull the cars together. They can stop at someplace like Southcenter and we can escort them up to Lynnwood or something. I've been looking for posts that show when they are coming through the area.

Here is what we're dealing with so far. They are anticipating leaving from Portland between 9-10 on Wednesday (could even be Thursday). With stops that would put them at Southcenter around 2:00 or as late as 3:00. We could have two groups, one leaving the Tacoma area and driving up as far as Southcenter, the second group meeting up at Southcenter and escorting them up as far as Lynnwood, or any combination.

The problem is rush hour. We won't have a lot of time to spend at Southcenter if they arrive at 3:00 because by 3:30 it starts to becomes a real chore to get up to Smokey Point. If they plan to take a longer break, then we're fine if we depart after 6:30. They could even get a later start out of Portland. Rob is going to make some calls in the morning and try and pin things down a little more. He also is working on a stop at a slot car track and he will know if that's feasible tomorrow. We'd get even more participation if it was an early evening event.

I'll work on pulling the Seattle group together if someone wants to work on the south end. We can pick a park and ride or something near Tacoma to pick up the south end group.

At this point I'm open to any and all ideas. I see in LA that everyone signed a Ferrari shirt and we can do something similar. I'll also see what we can get at the Lamborghini store.

I'll see a lot of you tomorrow at the XXX show so we can kick around some ideas then. Thanks everyone for helping with this.
