I plan on coming from the North across the Edmonds/Kinston Ferry. Be aware that we will be competing with people and Buses for the Bremerton’s Armed Forces Day parade.

Have done this run for the last 4+ years and it is not a problem getting across. Give yourself plenty of time.

Any takers to meet up and drive over together?

The Vet's Drive is an awesome event!!! If you have done it, you will never miss another one. If you have never participated, do it and you will be hooked for ever!!!

You will have stories and hear stories that will change your life, and the awesome thing about this, you will change a Vet's life for "Ever"!!!

    See you there )

Count me in *tentatively*.... I did a dumb thing. Forgot to renew my 328 tabs
in April - went for a great drive yesterday with expired tabs!! (got lucky). So
I went online to renew... but need emissions

So tomorrow I have to get a 3-day permit and hit emissions... if she passes, I SHOULD
have good tabs before the weekend. But if she doesn't pass, she'll have to spend
some quality time with Pope Carlo, in which case it will be unlikely I'll have her back
    before the weekend.

    I'll keep ya'll posted.

This was made by a friend of ours. Times ref. to actual rides for the vets. The event starts between 10:30 and 11:00 at the designated spot.

Is there an actual agenda posted somewhere I missed? I know there's the brunch,
the "parade", and rides and such... we all meet at Retsil first? Or is the parade on
the way to Retsil? Same brunch location as before? (can't recall the name).

Hey - it's Jedi's brain fart week, so go easy on me.

    :)

Hi Gary - I've often wondered about F-Cars and ferries - isn't the tide a bit of a bugger
for clearance? Do you have to judge your ferry rides based on using a tide table for
high tides? I've wanted to take my 328 to Vashon for the day, but I'm concerned that
the ramp will be too bloody steep - I've seen it at some pretty crazy angles at low tide
that I'd never be able to make without losing parts behind :)

Just curious - not trying to hijack the thread :)

It is no problem on a 308 or 328...I never had an issue with mine...if it is extremely steep, ask the attendant to adjust the ramp for you, and take it at 45% angle....now on a 348 or 355, that is another story, especially how mine was previously...it was 2cm lower in the front than specification...raised up now, and it is much better...but still something to watch for...but again, regardless of how low a tide, if you ask them to adjust the ramp, you can make it fine...I have anyways...

Yes, agreed!!! I have never had a problem. Slow at an angle seems to work. Have not had to have them adjust it, but good to know. The only problem is the attendant wanted to put my 308 on a upper side ramp and I shook my head and pointed down the center and they let me go every time.

Anyone wanting to join in on the North End Drive via Edmonds/Kingston Ferry we will be loading on the 8:40 AM boat. If you want to meet up before hand PM me for details.

It's not looking good for my car making it but I'm not giving up either. I'll be up late every night this week working on it to try getting it done. I'll still show up though even if it's not in the 308.
