Fchat all the way. I figure, this community is so technical & so "tight", that any sponsor who provided poor service or products would quickly be caught. If you can please the Fchatters, you can concur the world.

Already bought from.... Hill, Sodacoms, and in a round-a-bout way, Cavallino Motors.

I buy from Fchat sponsors, but really it's word of mouth. The banners don't make much of an impression, but if other Fchatters are consistently recommending a vendor, it matters to me.

Out of the Fchat sponsors, I have bought the following:

Exotic Car World (former title sponsor) -- my 328
    Norwood Performance -- maintenance
    Sodacom's -- parts
    Hill Engineering -- shift knob
    Ferrari UK -- parts

I voted Fchat and AUto Racing, I figured that anything that provided an excuse to keep the TR on the track was a good thing

I will call an FChat sponsor first. If their pricing is around 5% of a 'better price' (Purchases under $100 would be exempt from saving $5.00) and delivery is about the same, they will get my business. If a sponsor is 10% higher on a $400 item Vs a non-sponsor with the same or like product that I need, they will not get my business.

Absolutely - with over 10,000 gearheads on this board who have an active interest in automobiles and everything affiliated, your product/service has to deliver or you will be quickly found out. Of course, pricing is also a factor but if given a choice to work with a sponsor or a non sponsor offering the same prices, I would go with the fchat sponsor. A discount is a bonus!

This is what I've seen here... and is consistent with what I see for my business.

    1) People do not believe anything they see in ads. In fact, ads in magazines and newspapers and such are largely ignored, other than grabbing coupons.

    2) Articles... people read articles and are far less skeptical of articles.

    3) Word of mouth from friends... this is where people truly put their faith.

Conclusion: the most important thing is to get people talking about your products... such that people have reason to give you a positive recommendation.

Advertising on F-Chat allows you to mention your product in threads as appropriate... and that will lead to people giving a positive recommendation/confirmation of what you've said. And that will gain you far more customers than any advertising at a car show, a race, a magazine, or anything else.

Have ardently supported and continue to support FChat sponsors by both purchase, then word of mouth when their products/services were terrific (two examples -Ferrari UK and Norwood). I have also found that I am very loyal, certainly even over some price differential, to these folks with whom I have had successful dealings. Word of mouth posting validating product quality and integrity of a vendor go even further with me than the ads.

F-chat, although I do a search in the archives just to check. I bought my car from Martin at Cavallino, shift knob from Hill, and my Tubi from Heiko at HG. 100% satisfied with all transactions.

    Cheers

F-Chat hands down. I look for good references within the threads or archives. I've spent over 24 grand in the last 7 months with F-chat sponsors (on a car worth...19 grand :( but we won't talk about that :D . I'm pretty sure the shop doing the work on my car procured parts such as window trim & gaskets from other F-chat Sponsors like Sodacoms and F of UK.

Now, once that pig (I mean, bella machina) is rustproofed and smogged, I'll be shopping for some test pipes and you know where i'll look first.

I have also made the decision to buy my next F-car or L-car from an F-chat member with good reputation, or previously owned by an F-chat member with a good rep wh o can give me the lowdown on said car.

William, I'm only a little familiar with your company. I'm very straight forward and honest with potential sponsors. It's my experience that sponsors who don't require a high volume of sales (cars, expensive parts, service) get the most value out of FerrariChat.com. Yes we have over 10,000 users, but that is still a small audience if you're not targeting the Ferrari niche specifically. I believe your company makes all types of electrical/building parts? Seems like you are more in the high volume - low profit margin business. Unless of course you are more into wholesale and FerrariChat.com might be good to reach business owners with retail chains. Just shooting straight. I always want a sponsor to be happy and receive much more value out of FC then they put in, that's the goal of advertising I do believe. Anyway, we have a very high renewal rate, but I'm also very honest with potential sponsors and have told them I question if advertising on FC would be a good idea. We can discus more offline.

I'd buy from sponsors and have. If you do become a sponsor you better be ready to offer "unreal" customer service. It's very easy to get blasted for things that may seem unreasonable, in the world you currently service.
