Last year, I fitted the HGTE exhaust into the 599, it is probably 15% louder than stock keeping the same tone. To me, it is not really loud or aggressive enough.

This week, I fitted the the Tubi exhaust into the 599, it is probably 15% louder than the HGTE exhaust keeping the same tone, but still not loud enough.

I want it even louder. What are my options? Do I have to go with the test pipe route? If so, does Tubi make test pipes? Do the 599 have 2 or 4 cats? Thanks.

    Taz,
Thanks I'll check it out. I also found out that Tubi makes a muffler delete with just pipes. I'll check that out as well. I am hoping the dealer will refund the exhaust, since they promised that it will be loud but it's not really.

The best sounding exhausts on the 599 I have heard are pretty much the Kreissieg, Capristo, and Novitec. The pitch is in that order, too, from high to bass. The Kreissieg has the most F1-like sound and the Novitec the loudest bellow.

There is no center resonator/muffler on the 599, so straight pipes will leave you with only the cats providing muffling.

How about a 599 GTO exhaust? That has the best OEM sound of all.

The straight pipes dont sound all that great, I wouldnt go that route. Kreissieg sounds awesome, and it has the mufflers and X pipe.

Paulo- Capristo has a great sound and outstanding workmanship, but I prefer the slightly higher pitched sound of the Kreissieg, which is made in Japan and also has great workmanship. Both are available with remote controls for the exhaust, so the best of both worlds. Relatively quiet cruise and loud when wanted.

The mid range Tubi system sounds great, very loud and has a much better top end scream than the HGTE exhaust.

Will find a clip for you.

I was just about to post the same thing regarding my 612. Ferrari v12s are so quiet in comparison to the 360/430s or any v8 in that matter. I basically requested to have my mufflers custom made to be as loud as possible and the damn thing is still not what I wanted. The only other way is to put a straight or x pipe. Then it may be too loud. Anyone here with the same quiet problem?

I have the capristo system. I think it's the cats and muffler. I like the sound. It has been posted here a long time ago and an increase in power as well.

George- An X-pipe will cost you power. That is why Ferrari went to straight pipes on all the V12s 2/3 of the way through 575M production. Doug's (Champagne 612) 612 with HGTC exhaust and valves opened sounds great. There are clips on this forum.

We V12 guys are starting to sound like the V8 crowd. My 575M has the factory HGTC exhaust and has the perfect sound for me, but it sounds like it may not be as loud as some of you want. Too loud and it makes cruising a pain, like my old Novitec Supersport system. That was very loud. If you want loud, get an unvalved Novitec.

I do like the GTO exhaust. Have driven my friend's car. Exhaust note gets really angry when you floor it!
Any detrimental effects if fitted to regular 599 GTB? Inappropriate back pressure may lead to power loss?

I have the Capristo with remote valve, sound is amazing and it is loud, if the valve is open all the time.

I know a company that makes some loud mufflers for the 612, sounds pretty crazy. Hamann has a header to muffler system thats really awesome too.

Wont have any issues, other than maybe fitment.

George- Yes, the 612s do have exhaust valves. I thought they did not either because it is not shown in the parts catalog, but that is because they are not available as separate parts like they were on the 575s and earlier V12s. The HGTC exhaust looks very similar to the normal exhaust except for the tailpipes. They just left some of the guts out of the mufflers.

In the bottom photo, you can see the upper bearing for the exhaust valve on the inner tailpipe, just like on the normal exhaust system.

Thank for the info. Seems like the dealer is not willing to touch the cats. I will most likely go for the Tubi (without the mufflers).

These Novitecs (assuming they really are Novitecs and only the mufflers modified) sound pretty loud.

That is about what my 575M sounded like with Novitecs fitted. The ones you can see straight through the muffler front to rear. Too loud for my wife and neighbors, but I liked it.

    Notes to videographer:
    (1) You don't have to stick the camera up the tail pipe. At every start up.
    (2) Stand still. You don't have to run after the car. Getting 20 feet closer is not going to help you hear a car that can be heard for 20 blocks.
