I will be going to both events just to be able to see as much in as possible. I am just curious, who will be going, which of the 2, or are you going to both? And just to give due props to where they belong, fellow F-Chatter m5guy is getting things together for the So-Cal band of enthusiasts to do a drive up for the Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca event. http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?goto=newpost&t=311181 If anyone is planning on staying down for the weekend, see his thread and contact him to see if there are rooms available. As a member of S.C.R.A.M.P., I want to help promote this event as much as possible. Why? I want the event to keep coming back there every year. INCLUDED IN THE EVENT - 458 Challenge FXX 599XX F1 Cliente And just for those of you that have not heard, these 2 events are supposedly the only ones with all the track candy. It's an event that can't be missed. So! What's the verdict on attendance? If anyone is wanting to start a caravan to either event, we could just throw it in here about a month before either event. I will be at Sears Point, driving in with a group of friends on Saturday, April 30th. We are leaving from the Chevron station in Winters at 8:00 AM. Should arrive by 9:30 or so. Ron
Check Ferrari's website, I thought that I read that the FXX and 599XX cars would not be at Infineon. I was planning on going there first before I read that. Heading to Laguna instead.

Thanks for the info, couldve sworn I saw differently before though that was at the beginning of the year. Can you point me in the direction for the schedule for the Laguna Seca event? I checked under the Ferrari Challenge Event site but could find nothing. Thanks
Not sure if one has been posted yet. I have orientation on April 9th at the track, so I will see if there is anything that I can use to help out with keeping everyone informed on the schedule.
Today I got a taste of what we are in for. Yes, the 458 Challenge cars come with air conditioning. Yes, that is an ALMS rule. I'm assuming that Ferrari developed the AC system and its controls to ultimately compete in GT2, replacing the outgoing 430 model.
I did not know that. Strange, since they race with windows open and they only carry 26 gallons of fuel in twin carbon fiber gas tanks. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Does any one have a schedule of what will happen at Laguna Seca on FRIDAY May 20th? Seems like it might be a low key day .. no people.
Did not mean to imply that Ferrari would try and enter a Challenge spec car in ALMS GT2. Only said that it would not be a surprise if the same AC system is ultimately used in the GT2 race car since ALMS rules require AC.
I will be down on the 9th for my season orientation. I will see what I can find out and get it posted.
All that was said is that this is "a low key" event for the staff. I did get my tickets though. No posters of the event. I was hoping they would have done something cool for the event. The tickets look pretty cool though.
Are you sure about the poster? My latest email copy of the Corkscrew Newsletter shows a small image of something that looks like it could be a killer poster. Image Unavailable, Please Login
If they had them, they didn't give them to us. They usually do so we can post them in various places for advertisement to draw spectators down. I was really hoping they did. That artwork is on the tickets though. I got mine Saturday.
Does anyone have the schedule for Monterey, who is the promoter, and how many cars are expected to attend? Any info at the Long Beach GP on this?
Doug, check in the SoCal section. There's a group of about 20 coming up to Laguna Seca. Are you coming back to the VCHC for the big 40th anniversary this year?
Hi, Where did you get this agenda? Is there any info for 4/29 and 5/1? I will be out in Silicon Valley for a business trip on Thursday and I am thinking of staying over a couple days to check out this race. It would be AWESOME if I can pull it off. Thanks, -Jim
The missus and I were thinking about checking this one out on the cheap. Going for the $20 general admission tickets instead of the $110 VIPs. Anyone think there's a chance I can still park my Mondi in the Ferrari corral? I'd be leaving from the South Bay, if anyone wants to caravan...
Jason, act like you've been there before They will likely direct you to the Ferrari corral. If not, ask them "Which way to the Ferrari parking?"
That's exactly what I was thinking. If anyone gets information on which lot is the Ferrari corral, please post up. And if anyone wants to caravan from the South Bay (I'm in Sunnyvale), post up or PM me!
