Know the cars and the owner well. That is why he is selling both. The 458 makes them no fun to drive anymore.

That seems a bit odd. In my 20 year old opinion it seems that the Enzo would be a lot more fun than the 458(Yes, I know the stats) simply because of the mystique surrounding Ferrari's supercars and because of how much joy it seems to bring people who see it. The Enzo is one of the few cars that have seemed to be more than just cars to me. The first time I saw one I literally felt like I could feel the love the engineers and assemblers put into it.

Does he still have a 288 GTO in the collection?

Yes high miles indeed; especially when there are some sitting with less than 1,000 miles or even the brand new delivery miles Enzo if you are brave...

    Not Tonkin's Enzo...owned by Mr. Stevens. Tonkin's Enzo is Rossa/Rossa not Rossa/Nero

Alot of older/classic Ferraris aren't "kings of any hill" and are worth many times their original value. And in case you're wondering ... laying out a million for an Enzo is immensely fun! :)

Come on. It's more than being king of the Hill which actually an Enzo still is when it comes to Wow factor. Same as an F40 or a Carrera GT, they will always be king of that hill. Sure a 458 will be faster in the real world but then again how many owners are capable of pushing these cars to the fullest? Even when they were king of the hill, i saw plenty of Enzos being passed on the track by your average sport car (996 GT3, 430s etc..).

The Enzo is much faster than the low-speed numbers indicate. We were passing race cars with slicks at Laguna Seca in the Enzo with stock tires... with Johannes van Overbeek driving.

When accelerating over 100 mph, the Enzo will quickly pull several hundred feet on the 458.

The 458 does 60 to 130 mph in over 8 seconds.
The Enzo does 60 to 130 mph in about 7 seconds.

On a big track, like the Nurburgring, the fastest 458 drive to date is 7:33. The Enzo did 7:26 with a busted suspension and 8 year old tire technology.

In my opinion, the Enzo is still king of the hill, even if I didn't own one!

I've heard some Enzo owners say they even like their CS better for the street. The Enzo is best on a track or open road at high speeds. In my opinion, nothing else compares to the Enzo over 100 mph.

Great pictures Bill. I wish i was there to see an Enzo driven in a manner that befits its status. That must have been something!

Which is absolutely logical, since the Enzo has a vastly superior power to weight ratio compared to the 458.

All of Tonkin's cars are firmly impounded in his collection with no sign of coming up for sale. At the annual FCA meeting (you should have gone...!) there was the full Quiver of Ron's 275 GTS, 330 GTS, 288 GTO, F40, F50, Enzo and more... PLUS an extra F50 and Enzo in the showroom. There were a lot more exotics too ....
