Well it's finally happening. An F1 car on Mount Panorama This is happening tomorrow Button and Lowdnes(teammate to Montoya in F3000) will have the honours. Of course it's only a PR stunt for Vodafone so we won't see the car @ 100% but hopefully Button is allowed to break the 2min barrier It will be in a McLaren MP4-23. http://www.speedcafe.com.au/2011/03/21/no-speed-limit-on-lowndes-bathurst-f1/ http://smh.drive.com.au/motor-news/350kmh-f1-car-takes-on-bathurst-20110316-1bx22.html There should be LIVE streams of this tomorrow, I'll post them up as I find them. They were going to bring the MP4-26 but they wanted to break the lap record set by the V8 supercar...
... Unless they've been foxing us all. Seriously how good would it be to have an F1 GP at Bathurst? I reckon there would be plenty of excitement & overtaking, but alas there's too many safety issues for it to ever be a reality
all it will take is money and for melb to lose the GP......which it would gladly do, imagine the town of bathurst, the amount of money that would come into it.....not even krudd schools bullsh!t could emulate the inflow of money from F1
I wouldnt have thought so either, but I am assuming they had to 'soften' the suspesion for that track. Seeing as it is on the side of a mountain and a lot steeper than most people think.
