Today my friend told me he saw a yellow F40 and F50 at a car show in machesney park, IL a little west of Chicago. At first I was a little skeptical but he showed me pictures he took and I was shocked! Both cars look incredible in yellow. One thing I noticed was the F50 had a yellow steering wheel as well which seemed a bit odd. Does anyone know anything about these cars? I love hearing the history of some of these rare machines :)

Here is a link to the pictures -

I'm on the fly right now but I can tell you the yellow F40 is the 27th USA spec F40 built, which means its chassis number 85982 (ZFFMN34A7L0085982), assembly number 02932.

FWIW it has been repainted yellow from its original red.

Will check on the F50 later..

Don't believe Wayne, Bill or anyone at MPI owns them. Customer cars.

Looking at the the f50 on iPhone I was able to zoom in a little better than pc and the f50 seems very strange it does apper to have a yellow trimmed steering wheel, yet the seats are black with RED inserts

Didn't Rod Stewart (the singer) have a yellow F40 at one time? And, was his ordered special with factory yellow, or was it repainted?

The F40 looks cool in yellow, though I always wished someone would do one over in black, myself.

Rod did have a continuation AC Cobra repainted yellow once, the car was recently featured in a UK magazine.
