    Today Autogespot.com wrote an article about the new 599 GTB Fiorano, currently being tested at the Fiorano track. The new 599, according to the photographers, sounds like a true V12, this in contrast to the rumors regarding a turbocharged V8.     So 550/575 360/430 type facelift as opposed to all new body?

    My guess is that the current mule is nothing more than the new 599 under the hood whilst the exterior is made up of random bits of Ferrari laying in the development area. The 458 Italia started life as a modded F430 with some extra bits attached to it, the new 599 will start as a 599 with other bits of other Ferrari's installed.

    Personally, I hope that they install the Italia headlights on the new 599 and design it in style with the 458 and FF. The new steeringwheel with all the buttons attatched to it is something we'll see for sure.

    originally thought to be a facelift, a la 550/575. now there is rumor that Ferrari may buck tradition and unveil an all new car, based on the FF, with an aluminum chassis and composite body panels.

    What exactly do you mean with "a California on the back"? I don't quite get the point of that whilst looking at the pictures.

    I Don't agree 100%

    The 550 and the 575 are two versions of a same car, While the 360 and the F430 are two different cars.

    Well I can see why, the grand finale of the 599 was the GTO and the SA Aperta. Both models featured certain changes compared to the original model, the 599 GTB. Therefor, introducing a modified 599, as the 575 was compared to the 550, is not wise.

    Current technology paves the road for a larger increase of power and styling. Hence, a completely new car is ready to be designed.

    +1 that is the new 599 with the current 599 body shell with some mods on it. It is just a mule.

    From a very reliable source, 700hp+ will blow the GTO, coming in 2 years

    The shape of the seats..the area around the shoulders, look different from the present 599. Looks to have some red pipping too.

    Guess that being on the phone whilst driving a Ferrari in Italy doesn't get you booked for a 250 euro fine as would be the case in Holland :(
