I am in the process of a front end freshening on my 308 - MACarbon struts, new signal lenses and a new grille. Additionally, 4right inspired me to restore my fans and motors.

Look at the old grille I removed! Initially I thought this was a Euro QV because it is sized for the Euro bumper and driving lights. On closer inspection it is clear it was custom fabricated. Not a bad job (Newman has nothing to worry about) and cleverly done. It has an upper bracket that bolts to the existing hole on the horn bracket. I assume it was a one-off. Has anyone else ever come across something similar?

It was held on with one bolt?

It was held on by one bolt in the center (to the horn bracket) plus it bolts to the two original upper bracket holes with improvised brackets (you can barely see the holes in the upper fins of the grille). The cut-outs in the back of the grille are for the fan motors. Pretty clever really, but I have decided to return to the original U.S. grille.

It's aluminum, and welded. Worthy of a new home if anyone is interested.

Interesting grill. So do you currently have driving lights on either side of the grill? If so, are you removing them in order to install the US grill? Before and after pictures would be helpful. Good Luck with the project!

Sorry, didn't take any "before" pictures on this one - just dove right in. I didn't have driving lights even though the grille allowed the space. I recently purchased a U.S. grille from "artvonne." Remember him? Anyway, it will look like original U.S. 2V except for recessed bumper and deep Euro spoiler.
