    My F430 came with an Ipod cable but it uses the older one that does not charge the ipod. I have to recharge or turnon the ipod almost everytime I use the car.

    Has anybody tried as a DIY to exchange the old cable to the new becker cable that also recharges ipods/iphones?

    I have a 2009 Scuderia (last year for the 430 body style), and my ipod cable does not charge my Iphone.. so when you say older cables... i dont think any ipod cable on the 430 charges the Iphone..

    I bought mine from Becker USA (its installed in 360) and it charges Iphone / Ipad / Ipod.

    Several threads with photos & instructions on adding/changing the cable - basically pop the unit out unplug the old wire and plug the new one in - find power cable to splice into - bolt the remaining wire to an earth - reassemble

    This applies to the basic charging Ebay cable which is not shown on the beckerautosound site but the job if no 12v connection to be added is even simpler obviously

    I saw at the Becker website that their cables charges iphone/ipods so I thought maybe mine is the old type. Good to know thanks

    I just got the adapter and used it and WALA!!! Charges the ipod.

    But wait, the keys are not in the ignition and it still says it is charging?

    Is this supposed to happen?

    For the factory iPod option, is there a location where the iPod mounted or do you just set it down anywhere the cable reaches?

    In the Scud there is no glove box. Any other ideas for mounting point for iPod? Was it a factory option to have iPod? I did not order it that way but now would like to consider adding it.
