    From Autosport;

    I think he's acquitted himself better than most were expecting and could well wind up as a 3rd driver in a middling team.

    Cheers,
    Ian

    Williams needs the $$ from a lead sponsor. Whomever can bring that, will have seat #2. And at this point, neithere Sutil or Rubens have that important connection.

    I would hate to see Rubens retire, but moreso, I would hate to see Williams disappear. Bring on the money!!

    I'd take Sutil over Senna every time.

    I found him pretty mediocre at best and just feel he's living off his Uncle name more than his ability (and yes, I know it's not his fault who his uncle was but if wasn't for the name, I'm not convinced he'd be in F1).

    As for being a 3rd driver in a middling team, well that's just clinging on to F1 by your finger tips hoping not to fall away (which can work sometimes, as Nico Hulkenberg has shown, but I'm not so sure with Senna).

    If i were Williams, sign Rubens for one final season, and secure Sutil as a test driver. Give him the 2013 seat when Rubens retire.

    I could go with that. And let Sooty drive P1 every race to keep his hand in some.

    +1 Newbies tend not to know they're second all time on the WCC list;

    1 - Ferrari - 16
    2 - Williams - 9
    3 - Mclaren - 8

    I'd love to see 'em back at the pointy end again, and if that means taking Bruno's money, so be it.

    Cheers,
    Ian

    Williams lost their major sponsor, AT&T. Now what?

    Rumors has it that they're gonna sign with some Qatar based backing. No timeline given.

    We'll see. I'd rather they boot Rubens and get Sutil.

    +1 on Sutil. Force India now have 2 affordable drivers rather than 2 good drivers. Di Resta did ok but did not beat Sutil and now Hulk? Sure he seems ok but to move the team along they should have kept Sutil.

    Saward blog has some not so good news about Vijay's finances etc. I think the move was money more than anything else. Sutil is probably better than both of Force I's drivers.

    Williams would be smart to employ Sutil. I have a feeling they wont.

    I wouldn't mind Sutil at Ferrari to be honest with you...maybe they can do that. Reserve driver for 2012 then take over for Massa in 2013. The man had some impressive drives in the Force India last year.

    +1 on Sutil at Ferrari. When Felipe is released Id say Sutil is good fit. Solid and experienced.

    For what? More like if Kimi wanted to go there. I would not. The team is struggling, lack of leadership, etc. Not a place for someone like Kimi.

    He did want to go there. That was when they still had AT&T -- on paper. They must have known already that the deal was in jeopardy.

    I was not making any kind of comment on whether that was the right team for Kimi. I'm sure it did work out for the best for him.

    Hold on - While the BBC is pretty good, even they say;

    If it was a done deal, they'd both be issuing press releases......

    I suspect there's a big ol' pissing contest at Williams right now;

    - We need his experience / feedback or
    - We need the $

    Would be a shame if Rubens didn't do one more year IMO.

    Cheers,
    Ian

    Senna in a Williams?

    Er... that was a rather an unfortunate association last time around...

    Ian however this ends up, I see money ruling this decision. Williams are on the backfoot a bit. I like Senna but they need Rubens or a Sutil more to make progress.

    I don't know as I was actually impressed with Senna's performance this past season and think he can bring a breath of fresh air to Williams not to mention a much needed cash infusion. I like Rubens but I think his time has passed even with his experience so I would either go with Senna or Sutil.
