    Outage here too, but was at US$6 mil before outage, memory could be faulty mind you.......
    All back now. Somewhat down on Whittel Coupe though..... I expected well over $10

    US$10.7 for 540K still good, would be worth it for curves like that.

    What a strong result for the 250 LWB Cal spyder- that must be a new record.
    Also the 300SL Gullwings are continuing to rise in price. These two sales will make owners of 300SL very happy.

    Just checked the chassis numbers and one of the 300SL was a roadster (alloy) and not a gullwing which now explains the high price.

    Sounds about right to me. The last one sold I believe for a little over $2m? I believe that was the 'barn find' birdcage in Italy a couple years ago.... same owner for many years and all there. Red IIRC.

    forgive MBZ on F-chat; 300sl roadster alloy ENGINE only. ALLOY gullwing (entire car) much much more $$; recall 4.2mil alloy gw last Jan.

    GW usually more $ than ro; apples to apples. However, your price premise of owner's "happy" (me) is correct as even "car guys" and especially the public at large really do not parse out the details and "what is what"--headline reads only " mbz 300sl for $xxx" and public tends to skip the fine print--which, as you know, makes all the difference!
