Uhh... that sure looks like a genuine 10" Campy from/for the back end of a Pantera...which would make it magnesium.

Sheesh! Is that all you do; post where to get (__________) fixed in Reno? :p

Off the top of my head, I'm thinking a tire shop such as Les Schwab, Firestone, etc could maybe help. I can't think of any wheel specialty shops here. I know the guy I referred you to for the Subaru incident (Reno Auto Body) does wheel work, but I'm not sure if it's limited to paint or if they can fix it. They would be my first suggestion. I'll look around and keep you posted.

    Hope all is well!

You need a specialist. Welding and repairing Mg is not for the casual shop.

The quality of wheel repair shops has declined lately.

    I would ask at Pantera.infopop.

couldn't agree more...I know of excellent shop/s in the SF bay area, might just pop down and take care of it there as I have never heard of anyone in this region recommended or raved about? I hope I hear of something local though as it is just good to know the specialty network people a little better and local is best :)

You might try Adams custom engines on Glendale in Sparks, they are a top notch restoration shop, have been around for a long while and are a pleasure to work with, if they can't help they will probably know who can.
Also try AIMS (Automotive Industrial Machine Services) just down Glendale from Adams, again they are a top machine shop and can probably help you out or steer you in the right direction.

Will we see you at the Italian festival this weekend?

I would call Elijah at 775-343-6067. I have used him several times. (My wife loves curbs.)

He also does many of the dealers locally wheel repair. He does great work and his repair business is mobile. He came to my house each time. Very simple and reasonably priced.

Mike, if XSSSIVE says something is good, then it's going to be damn good. Go with his suggestion.

nice call Mike...Gil, you guys are the best. Elijah just left, good guy, fair pricing, and I'll let the photos vouch for the quality work. I am off to Moundhouse (no, not to the Bunny Ranch :D ), but to Altizer's, the best wheel refinishers EVER, would not use anyone else after experiencing their work, I'll post up here when they've finished with their work.

I wanted to update here as this turned into quite an adventure. Elijah's work was great, only problem is the cosmetic compound 'melted' when slow cooked at 400 degrees, powder coat oven temps. So I had to start over. In the end I was fortunate to link up with Bert at Intrepid motors who confidently welded up the flaw and any others! I also got to hang out with bizzarrin's and 15mil. Ferrari's, and the like :)

Bert is a good guy; his shop is incredible. Glad it all worked out well.
