Hello gentlemen, Here is a "step by step thread" showing the making of a freehand drawing of a beautiful and very well maintained Dino 208GT4 belonging to Roel Bieshaar from the Netherlands, who is also known as "Dino 208gt4" in this forum! Roel had sent me some magnificent photos of his beloved Dino, and he wanted a drawing of his car made before he possibly buys another f-car! The drawing was meant to be a reminder/memory of all the great adventures and drives Roel, his wife Lenny and their kids have had in their Dino!!! The drawing is as always done exclusively with my Pilot drawingpen 0.1 millimetres in thickness, from looking at a photo of Roel's car. The drawing is done on A3 size drawing paper 130g/m2 (297mm x 420mm) and in total the drawing has taken me about 35-40 hours to make! Roel is very satisfied with the result, although he still haven't seen the original drawing yet!!! But both Roel and I would like to hear your opinions/reactions on the drawing, as well as to share the making of this drawing with all of you!!! Here we go with the initial drawing and the progress made during the first three days Best regards Carsten
Great job Carsten. As told to you earlier you're on my list for next year!! Cordiali saluti, Joren REMANS
Carsten...I have seen some of your drawings in real...and it's just breath taking. And I'm very serious! Increadable pieces of art...that's what they are! Thanks for showing these nice pictures of the art in process!! Well done!!! Waldo ForzaRossa.com
Looks absolutely great Carsten! I'm always looking forward to see more work from you! And it's true, your drawings look even better in real life!
Thank you so much Carbon, and thanks also for uploading a link at the Ferrari marketletter, I really appreciate that!!! I will gladly upload a link in return Best Carsten
Thanks Joren buddy......like I told you elsewhere, just let me know....I'm ready to do your "beautiful black lobster"...anytime!! Best Carsten
Thank you also Dom, Waldo, Jerry, Alexander, Jurgen and Russ....I'm totally overwhelmed by all these compliments....thank you guys @Jerry, I have not yet made anything in color, and usually I work only with the black ink-pen, and trying to get as many nuances out of that as I possibly can, to make the drawings look somewhat photorealistic in black and white! The contrast is what makes the picture! Perhaps, but only PERHAPS, I will try one day to do something in color to see if I can work with that......it's a totally different technic when working in colors Best regards Carsten
Hi Carsten, well what shall I say. You know I am very honoured you choose my car for your drawing. When I see this tread I am realy blusching Also seeing this drawing and the pictures of my car I am more getting unsecure if should trade it for another Fcar. Thank you thank you very much Carsten. Hope to see the drawing in real life very soon. Ciao,
No Roel....I thank you!!! And I too hope that you will keep the Dino....it's a rare and wonderful car, and one that is not on every street corner.....I like it you know, and I like it a lot Can't wait till I'll see it in the flesh, After all you wanted a drawing of the Dino, so of course I took the challenge to accept your order.....I'm just so happy that it turned out to suit your liking, and I'm so ashamed that you have only got a bad A4 print hanging next to your screen!!! I will asap have some prints made, so that you will have the "real deal" to look at VERY soon!!! Thank you Roel for all your cooperation on this project....I would do it again without any hesitation at all Your's Carsten
I'm glad you like it Roel BTW I almost forgot this little gimmick below, I promise I'll make you a better one since this first one was not really resembling the Dino How's this for a daily driver???
Beautiful Carsten - very well done. It's amazing how much a skilled artist can do to impart the beauty of these machines with a simple pen and ink drawing. For those of you who haven't seen it already, you should check out some of Carsten's other artwork on his homepage - you'll find them equally impressive. Well done. Mark
Can you make a similar one with a 288GTO? I would print it on transfer paper and iron it on a t-shirt
