I know there are some German car owners in here. Where do you get your car serviced?

My BMW 740 possibly needs a water pump so I am looking for a good repair shop for it. Classic is too expensive and the wait is usually long. Autoscope totally screwed up my car last time I was in there.

    Thanks for any help.

I've used Autoscope for my Jag and a buddy of mine uses them for his BMW. Sorry to hear they screwed yours up.

    Rob might have some thoughts?

Brian, here is the website for OSSH... http://www.overseas-service.com/main.cfm

Used them when we lived in Addison. Great company. Looks like they've grown a little since then, the owner knew FerrariChat.com and me well.

Very nice place to wait on your car too... big leather couches, magazines, large screen, and internet connection.

Over the years I've taken all my Bimmers to Mortiz in Arlington. It's worth the drive to be treated like a human & receive free loaners. Ask for Richard Fincher.

I second the Louden advice. Steve runs a good shop.

I used Autoscope for my diesel Mercedes about 2 years ago and had a TERRIBLE experience. I would rather walk before I brought any vehicle back to that shop. I now have a mechanic who works out of his house on the side and is very reasonable and does great work on high end cars. He works on my Ferrari and Mercedes, as well as my fiance's Carrera. He just had surgery but should be up and running in a few weeks. If anyone wants the number PM me.

My office is right across the street from two places who do a lot of BMW work. One is Bander Motor Works and the other is Garage Fournier. Both of these are on Grissom Lane. A fellow named John Luc (sp?) runs the latter and we have sent several people with BMW's to him and they were quite happy and he is apparently very reasonable.

I went by Overseas, it is close, it looks ok and the service manager sounds like he knows BMW's, so I think I will try it. I will let you guys know the outcome.

I got my car back from Overseas Service Haus on Preston (Rob's recommendation, thanks Rob). They knew what the problem was before they really got into the car, It appears they fixed it. The car had exhaust smoke at start up, a loud whine under the hood and the check engine light was on. All the problems were connected to a bad oil seperator and leaking intake gaskets. The $880 Price seams reasonable for the amount of work.

    Thanks everyone for your recommendations.

My M3 goes to either Nine Eleven or to Classic BMW.
Nine Eleven is very good quality and more reasonably priced than the dealer.
