Hello guys. If you can choose between the Tamiya 1/12 Enzo, the Tamiya 1/12 F50 and the Kyosho F40, which one would you choose? Please, answer. I'm in doubt. Thanks in advance. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hi Antonio, I've got all three and to be honest, i'd get the F50, then F40 then the new Kyosho Enzo when it is released. I have the Tamiya version and it was a huge letdown in that it falls apart and i've had 2 replacements, 3 in total. Anyway, thats my answer and all i can say is, dont be tempted by the Enzo just cos it looks the best, be patient and you'll appreciate it more when Kyosho release theirs. Regards, Matthew
I have all three of them too! If i were you, i would get the kyosho F40 first, then the F50 and also would wait on the Kyosho Enzo... Image Unavailable, Please Login
Buy the F50 1st because there is no other choices in the near future. Kyosho is going to release 1/12 Enzo and F40 Lightweight btw. Unfortunately the tamiya's F50 is the least detail among the three, but it has a diecast bodyshell unlike its Enzo...a whole lot heavier than Enzo but light compare to Autoart's 1/12 Murcielago. I think you should get the F40 first. I'm planning to buy all three, and the F40 will probably be my first purchase.
I just started to collect these 1/12 Ferrari models few weeks ago and currently got F40 and F50. I would say get the F40 first as it got more details than the F50 (unless you want to get the F40 light weight version). I myself is now waiting for Kyosho to release the Enzo to complete my collection (I think they are expecting to release it at the end of 2005). Hopefully it will be as detail (if not more) than the Tamiya with a diecast body!
Thanks for all the answers. I'll probably get the F50 first, the F40, and i'll wait till the Kyosho´s Enzo. Is the Tamiya Enzo so bad? Please, tell me how much would you pay for each one. I've found a F50 for 300 (around 390 USD), and i think it's a good deal. Thanks in advance.
One things for sure, the Tamiya Enzo is not a popular choice..... Is the Enzo so bad, YES, its cost me an arm and a leg and a whole load of wasted time..... For the models, just hit e-bay, u'll see loads..
Tamiya's Enzo is very good in accuracy and details but the materials used (plastic mostly, results in fragile hinges) and esp the built quality are suprisingly bad. If you really want one then I suggest you go to your local hobby shop to get it. Because you need to examine it, or else you may regret later...and yes, their QC is as bad.
I've finally decided to buy the Tamiya F50. I get the F50 that i've talked about yesterday. Paid 300, and i'll have it in a week. I'll tell you how it is when i receive it. Thanks for all the answers. Do you think that Kyosho would make the 1/12 F40 LM too?? I'm dreaming about it...
That would be the answer to a lot of people's prayers - I hope somebody makes a top quality F40LM in 1:12/1:18 in the near future.
Sorry for going off-topic, does any of the Kyosho F40 owner find it hard to make the headlight stay at the full up position?
I own 4 Ferrari models in 1:12... Revell 250GTO Kyosho F40 Tamiya F50 Tamiya Enzo I have to say the F40 is my favorite. I was unhappy with the wheels as they came from Kyosho, so I had them chrome plated to simulate the polished lips. I then re-detailed the centers with silver paint. I think this looks better than the whole wheels being painted. For people with the Tamiya 1/12 F50, is it possible to switch the tires so the raised white lettering is on the inside? I don't know why they did that - looks silly imho.
I tried that Joe.... the way the wheel/tire is grooved on the inside, it dsnt allow the tire to sit tightly against the rim when flipped inside. Perhaps you could shave off the groove, but I decided to leave it alone for the time being. I do agree the white lettering looks lousy.
I am surprised noone criticised about the ride height of Kyosho's F40. I agree the detail of it is superb (i personally love the speedometer with the fact that it is '3d') But i was very very disappointed with the front ride height! It looks nothing like the real thing! Apparently they improved the height on the yellow one, and the lightweight one seems to be even better, i'm looking foward to the lightweight one myself Out of the 3 I somehow like the F50 best...but then its true for me for the real ones too, so i guess... Anyway a pic of mine, sorry for bad quality... Image Unavailable, Please Login
Sorry but I don't have anymore pics of the blue F50 at the moment, I am out of town with my laptop, I will be able to retrieve them from my desktop in two weeks time though...hope you can wait! Btw, it is a custom painted model, NOT by me though. i got it for a very cheap price too, US$128 and it came with a display case
Yup, all 1:12. I like 1:12's and occasionally Pocher 1:8's, but my primary target are 1:18's since they are mostly cheaper!
Ok - thanks Justin. Please post the pics to this thread - I will subscribe to this one so I can be notified.
I just received the F50 today, and it lookks great to me. It's my first 1/12, and i think that it's a very beautiful model. I'll wait till 1/12 Kyosho's Enzo, and i hope Kyosho or Tamiya makes a F40 LM. I'm still dreaming about one... Thanks to all. And Justin, please, post some more pics of this F50!!!!
