Tonight I pulled off the radiator fill bottle to prep for re paint. On the underside there are two different connectors. One is setup with 2 plug ins. I think this one signals water temp.
The other one has 2 very short small red tubes (sensors??) that stick out and go into two other hoses.
Now comes the problem. One of those red things broke off. So my question is:
Can I just 't' off the one and run the two hoses together?

    Thanks alot, Danny

The one with two tubes sticking out is a temperature operated vacuum switch. It has small diameter vacuum lines connected to it. When the water comes up to temp, it opens, allowing the manifold vacuum to get through, and open the EGR valve. The EGR valve only opens when the engine is warm.

I have disconnected mine. EGR is emissions crap! But if you must pass emissions, you might want to replace the switch.

If you do not use it, be sure to plug the vacuum line that goes to the manifold so you don't have a leak. There is an electrovalve in that circuit too that shuts off the EGR when the RPMs are too high or low. So you actually have two devices in series that control the EGR. If you leave the hose open, you will get a vacuum leak when the electrovalve opens.

oops, I forgot to answer the question. No, you don't want to "T" the two hoses to one side of the switch. That would connect them at all temperatures, and open it to the environment when the switch opened, causing a vacuum leak. You are better off to either get a new vacuum switch, or just disconnect the EGR vacuum.
