I own a 93' 348 Speciale.#71. Like all other 348's my plastic interior bits are not looking good. I'm considering replacing most of it with CF.Question is...would I hurt the cars "originality" or value by doing this? I thought of doing just the instrument panel and the intire middle console.

It certainly affects the originality, so keep the original parts.
As to you value, it depends on the buyer. On the whole I'd say your at
least even if you keep the original.

Who is your source for the instrument panel? I assume you mean the plastic around the gauges? I'd like to get that. I'd also like to replace the "clamshell" pieces that shroud the steering stalk.

I think I would prefer the CF. The job on the leather looks very nice however. I was looking at MacCarbon.com.

I did mine in carbon fiber. I got it from Valence, USA. Its a one piece unit that incorporates the upper console (with the temp guages), lower console (with the shift gate), and ashtry into one unit. It looks AMAZING. AMAZING is an understatement. It looks INCREDIBLY AMAZING. It took my 6 months to get it, but it was so worth the wait. I still have my other pieces, which actually are not in that bad of shape...i don't think anyone would pay less because of originality. Anyone looking at this car, that saw this piece in there, would pray that the 348 they bought had. I am now going to replace a couple of other parts in CF because of how good this piece looks. Fittment was great! Price was $700.

Noel -- from the post that Aaron made, I thought it was all one-piece... is yours from Valence or MACarbon?

Yes they are from MACarbon. It took them 1 month to produce as there is no way I will wait 6 months. He also helped me install it.

Come to think of it, some of the pix on his website is my car. Kewl.

When I orginally ordered it...it was a two piece deal with no ashtry. They called me during the process and told me that they were thinking about making a one piece unit and wanted to know if I was interested. I said 'absolutely'. Im pretty sure mine was one of the protypes, which is the reason for such long wait times. It was so worth it though...I really like the way the one piece unit looks compared to multiple units but any of them will total transform the inside of the car. Its amazing the difference. I think Valence is going to post some pics of the unit and I will try to get the installed pics as soon as I can.

Please don't tell me that some guy in a hut somewhere with no phone makes the stuff.

Why even worry about "originallity"? These cars are not going to appreciate in value like some of the other great classic Ferraris. They are just toys meant to be enjoyed not investments so do what ever you like to it and drive the hell out of it. That is the only way you will ever get back what you spend on it.

Just ordered the instrument panel and center console (AC panel and shift panel along with ashtray.)All parts are seperate. These will be comming from MAcarbon. There # is 1-650-520-4822. Ask for John. The cost for all peices was $1,105.00. I will keep all the parts I take off. I think this is going to look better and I won't have to worry about a gummy surface anymore.

Thanks guys. The response from 348 owners has been really great. We should have some more customer photos available soon. Due to the demand we've added a few more pieces to what we have available including the coin tray, storage bin, and the Spider's lockable storage bin. Now we just have to deliver Kenyon's door panels and Harold's RHD parts! They're coming......

id have to say , that anyone who knows about a 348 and wants to buy one , would appreciate the CF mod pieces and door sills. the few who would want it exactly orig , could always get some new o.e. replacements, i think it would help re-sale way more than hinder...

i made a cf center w/o the ashtray , but it didnt match the rest of the pieces , and i dont have the time to invest in making that damn upper center piece with all the holes in it .. well it was fun doing it anyway.. now i guess ill buy the whole damn thing ..
