Is anybody on here planning on going to the FCA Nationals in Indianapolis right after the USGP?

I'll be there for some events including the Concours on Tuesday. Anybody else?

I'll be there too. If you look in the various "Regional" sections here on FChat, you'll see a fair amount of discussion from those going, planning caravans, etc...

I realize that. We have some folks going from our region as well, but I figured it'd be easier if we do thread covering everybody.

I'll be there for 8 days! Doing it right. Driving in Wednesday night with a caravan of cars from TN, AL, GA, MS, etc. so that we'll be able to get to the track Thursday AM for the pit pass even.

Leaving the next Wednesday after getting to drive on the Indy F1 track with the FCA.

Now THERE is my motivation for FCA at Indy. If you spot me, say hello please. I'm an easy target: Red 308 with a huge rear wing that makes purists want to hit me with one of them famous Indy bricks.

I signed up two of us for just about everything except the driver's school. It looks like the other guy is going to have to cancel.

If anyone is interested in taking advantage of his hotel (Marriott) reservation and the Formula One tickets, let me know.

FYI, the Marriott rooms, extra "US Grand Prix Race Package" and "FCA Formula 2 Package" which were bought under the 'early bird' arrangement are all gone now. Thanks to those who expressed an interest.

I'm co-running the Driver's Education Portion of the meet at Indianapolis Raceway Park. Should be fun.

For those who have not driven it, IRP is a very fun road course, despite the fact that it uses a dragstrip as its main straight and part of a parking lot to link two sections together.

If you surf the net, you may find some negative comments about the track. SCCA stopped racing there at one point because the area through turn 1 was so rough. They repaired that last month, though, and despite a couple ugly spots, I think its actually in pretty decent shape. SCCA is back (I raced a Spec Racer Ford there at the Mother's Day Sprints a few weeks back).

There are a couple dangerous spots in the track where the retaining wall is very close to the track, so if you're coming, bring your less aggressive side and take it very easy in those areas.

We have about 90 entries for the F1 package, which includes the Driver's Education Event. We have room for some more, although the Driver's School Day (Monday June 20) is pretty close to sold out at this point.

    Enjoy!

I'm not particularly into autographs, but I feel like I'd be remiss if I didn't take advantage of the opportunity to get one from Schumacher and Barrichello. So far I'm thinking of just having them sign the F1 Race Program, something I can frame and hang on the wall if I wanted.

Any other simple ideas from you guys?

Where will you/we get a chance to meet them boys?

I'd bring a copy of one of my own pics I took of them racing and have 'em sign that.

    Oh!
Well, if you could get me a Rubens signature on anything, that'd be great! I won't be at that party.

As you know, I got Michael already. On a very special item.

If I were you, I'd actually have them sign the fusebox cover of the 308. I'm planning on taking my cover to Goodwood this year in the hope that I'll find Arnoux or Johannson to sign it.

PS: I'd trade you an Arnoux sig for the Rubens one.
    :)

Now THAT's a rather unique (and odd, if you don't mind me saying so) suggestion!

    You think so?

I have seen a lot of cars being signed in that area by celebrities. And it is one piece that you can actually remove and take to the person if you can't bring the whole car along.

I guess I was thinking of one of the small plastic fuse box covers, not the large removeable vinyl covered piece. But I'd have to give him a silver or white pen for it to show since that's black inside and out! Interesting idea, though.

Well, I'm off for the long drive to Indy this morning!

The local and national did a great job this week. I enjoyed meeting so many people from out of town, shame about the GP, but the events this week have made up for it!
hope everyone gets home safe (no more trips to the jail for certain 308 drivers!).
It was a pleasure to be able to assist and help those with problems, I thank you all for coming, please come again soon.
