Great day for Great cars, hopefully within the next half hour, some of the pics I took should be uploaded to my webpage, http://community.webshots.com/user/chenoweth316 I'll move them towards the top so its one of the first albums there, Also i'm uploading the pics I took at the last PPIR event. I definitely enjoyed myself, but I would have loved to see the Yellow 996 turbo GT800 sitting in the Porsche line.
This was a real good show ! Over 300 cars and some very good one. I had fun to meet all of you, put a face on many chatters is always nice. We ran down from the Fort and met Wyo 550 who was waiting for us. Todd, Alan,AC,David (lambo)John and myself and a good run and connected with Mike 328 North of Denver. This was a perfect day, to bad that our show with Knievel was canceled. I came down with AC in the LM and if we were cool on our way down , we were hot to get back home. Having AC with me didn't change the inside temp. ??? What is he good for ?? Oh well, he helped to change the oil on the mower.. Roland F40LM Image Unavailable, Please Login
What a fantastic time! Met and spoke with so many awesome people. Weather was gorgeous (got a bit too much sun on the skin!) and the general spirit of the event was just really great. I thought that the councours was very well run and put together, was impressed. One of the highlights was meeting up with Roland and the Ft. Collins gang and sprinting (more like jogging) down I-25. Then on Santa Fe Dr., the local constabulary was out with laser! I thought we were all toast but Roland was keeping the right pace and the rest of us did one of those "Valentine 1" slow-down-real-quick numbers! Notable car highlights include an F430 (sadly, I personally was not moved--but it smelled like nice new leather!)... as well as a 288 GTO (wow!), a lot of Countaches, and a yellow Carerra GT... A 275, and a 250 (Sharon really liked these--what an eye that gal has--goes straight for the classics!). Also Chuck's stellar 330 America (I think--not 100% sure), which I was right next to! Also the nicest carb 308 I've seen, Curtis's Rosso 78 example, which I believe placed in the judging. Here are a few pics... Rather than post individual ones, I just snapped a few quick ones of the Ferrari "section" (talk about a presence!), plus a few of my own wagon as well as my fiancee Sharon... Enjoy! Thanks, we all had a great time and saw many, many great cars. Denver isn't just for 4X4 any more Roland F40LM
Who ever said you can't have AC in a race car didn't know what they were talking about. Roland putting AC in the LM just gave his car some luxury. I just glad he didn't take out the AC for the ride home in favor for a blonde. It was nice to see so many cars in one place and meet a bunch of good people even mike328 hehe. Thanks for the ride Roland! I never get tired riding in the LM.
It was a cool show to be at. The drive down with Roland and the gang was interesting to say the least. Just a few pics of the 150 that were taken =/ Wish the hood was closed for this one
After the ACC car show, Sunday, I saw a stunning red Countach and a gorgeous yellow 550 being chased east in the left lane of I-470 by the usual tailgating "get out of my way, I'm in a hurry!" Denver AH's. I was a couple hundred feet back, in the center lane. Without missing a beat, the Countach grabbed some gravel that was laying on the very edge of the left lane and literally kicked a face full of rocks and a cloud of dirt onto the Toyota AH's windshield that was WAY too close behind him! I couldn't believe it! With the Lambo's tires back on clean pavement again, the Coutach then shot like a red blur from 80-100 in nothing flat. The 550 meanwhile was cool, held back like he was waiting to see where the Countach was going (it stayed in the left lane...but was now hundreds of feet ahead of the Toyota). And then the 550 made his move and also easily went 80-100, leaving the pickup AH that was on HIS tail eating premium exhaust. The 550 signaled, found a hole into the middle lane, took the lane, shot by the stunned Toyota, signaled left, took the left lane again and got RIGHT behind the Countach like they were both on a track! The last I saw them, the Countach was leading and the 550 following, signaling their intentions safely-- yet cutting apexs across four lane interstate highway corners whenever a hole appeared in the late afternoon Sunday traffic...all the way to the I-25 northbound. The Countach driver was a pro. And the 550 was right there, step-by-step. At one point, a "look at my big hood scoops" Firebird convertible full of blonde mall rats on cellphones, unsafely jinked across a couple of lanes, just to chase the Countach. The 550 came up behind them and SHOT by the girls on their left, signaled right and cut them off like he had scissors as he got right back behind the Countach. I remember seeing the Firebird's brakes come on-- but not the 550's. He had his power-curve just right for that maneuver! I don't know where those two guys were heading ...but WOW, it was amazing to see them get there, driving safely through ordinary traffic at high speed in true supercars, under superb control and thankfully not a cop in sight to ruin the ending to a perfect car show for the rest of us!
Matt, Good to see you made the show, sorry I missed you. Thanks for the pics. It was great to see all the Ferraristi out and about.
It would have been nice to meet a few more Fchaters, I meet Roland and another guy with his son (sorry i forgot your name). I had a blast at that show, im going to try to come out to a track event and meet somemore people.
Hey kent, That would have been cool to run into you again, i just realized who this is, lol, sorry been along week!
Aloha Roland: I will try and bring back the "Where's the Prancing Horse - Part 2" pictorial later in my trip here on the valley isle. Hey, who owns the 288 that was at the Arapahoe Show? Stay tuned! Johnny
Brett; I may not do the helicopter thing this trip - yet I am waiting for Steve to take me up over Denver when I get back - preferably at night. Thanks for your introductions! John
