Cheapest quote so far is £830; L&V want nearly £1100 , up 30 % on lst year. Waiting on Aon, rest of them are too high. Looks like the L&Vprices last year were a 1 off.

    Tony,

I had a good look around when I got the GT4 back in Feb. I know yours is not an oldy, but try Norton Insurance anyway. Martin Hamer is the contact on: 0121-246-6062. Self and two others covered for £206!!! F/C 3000m limit.

I got a really competitive quote from Adrian Flux last week- I will be going with them. They tried really hard too- service very good.

Renewed the 308 with AON in june for £300.When I got the 348 they wanted an extra £158 to insure BOTH cars.So a total of £458 to insure to 2 Ferrari's with a 3K mile limit on each.

Dale would get a cheaper deal than that as he does 0 miles every year so no road risk

Tony last years L&V quotes were a mistake due to a flaw in Their renewal software if You remember My premium for last year(till dec this year) was £187.Its likely Their quote now are an attempt to get back some of the money They lost!!

I have always called at least 10 insurers every year, and for the last 4 years I have never bettered my existing quote. Norwich Union Direct. £1040 for 355 unlimited mileage, not garaged with 7 speeding convictions in the past 8 years and only 4 years NCB.

I tried almost every place 1 month ago and the best I got was 2k£ from Tesco to my 93' 348, limited 6k miles and protected NCB. I'm 27yrs and I have 4 yrs NCB and no motor convictions. i.e. AON put me to import section because car is LHD and they said that minimum age is 30. I really would like to know how you get premiums so low...

Norwich Union Direct always give me a laugh every year, my sides nearly split last year when a quote came through at £6,000 for my 355. I finally settled on a quote of £1,800 with Gary from this website. Just goes to show how much quotes vary :)

No one came within £500 of Adrian Flux's quote. Norwich Direct intially declined to even quote and said they didn't insure Ferraris. They then changed mind and quoted £1750! Adrian Flux have been v helpful and insurance has been sorted.

Did you try Footman James? Probably around the same mark as L&V, but nice people to deal with and can insure multiple cars for good prices (especially if one's a classic).

Andy- tried all the big names
Joe- didn't even bother going back to L&V
Si- have you shown that to SteveF?

Surely there has to be an easier way of getting a quote over phone ? Same info given to 10 brokers is mind numbingly boring. Can't they share the info received ??

Tony if you have the bottle you can ask for maximum excess, this will bring the insurance quote down dramatically, I think if you don't ask they automatically give you £250,i'm on £500 now and next year am gonna go to £1000 cuts it down to about £340 I think:D

Just obtained insurance for '94 348 spider with AON.

    Limited mileage 3000 miles

Insured:- Myself and wife (Have got age on our side- both half a century plus!!)

    Points:- I've 6 and she has 3

Premium:- 503 with a 250 excess. Full RAC European cover.

Previously with Carole Nash but premium up 200 quid to 750!!

Like others Fchatters have reported before. A "reduced" premium for the first year then the Wammo the following year hoping that you'll stay with them!!

And B4 you think it no I don't have any connection with AON.
