New date- Newport, RI Car Festival Oct 2nd!

Oct 2nd at Fort Adams State Park in Newport, RI. Great show with a beautiful setting right in front of the Fort on the water overlooking Newport. Lots of different cars and beautiful trophies. Registration is $10 with the proceeds going to charity. Good food as well. Field opens at 9 AM with registration closing at 12:00. Awards at 2:00. The show has only been held for the past four years. It has grown quickly though. Unfortunately every year the show has been pushed back becasue of rain. Last year was a real mess but still over 300 cars showed up. As for types of cars - everything. From old model T's to new cars. Last year there were a lot of old Muscle cars there. There were a good amount of Porsches, a Lotus, one Vintage Ferrari (sorry don't know which one). The show has become very popular though due to the fantastic location. I am personally involved as their main sponsor. I paid for all the trophies so I didn't skimp. Gone are the typical plastic trophies of other shows. This years trophies are rosewood and glass with the Best of Show trophy being a beautifully engraved Waterford Crystal vase. Judging is participants choice so its not too serious. Just a relaxing fun day!

One of my friends was at that M5 meet with his M. He would bring his M5 to the show this weekend but he got got a new 911 that he'll be bringing instead. Traffic will be no problem this time of year.
