Just had the Vignale painted. It's always fun to see a car freshly painted in the booth. Nothing unique in terms of color - red of course. But, I think a nice shade of red without the hot modern pigments. The color is tinted a little brown. The previous color was identical to the jack stands in the picture. Many 250MM were damaged and re-bodied. Total Vignale 250MM production 14 units. This one has the original body. I'm getting the car ready for some vintage racing - lite. Manny you have some of the most beautiful cars Ferrari produced. Your 375 is possibly one of my all time favourites. You definitely post less about the vignale than the MM so keep us updated with the refreshing of this little beauty. Cheers Simon It's a pity we didn't get to meet at Villa D'esta this year.
Looks very nice Manny. May I ask who is painting it. Also, are you painting the car with the engine and suspension in place? Thanks for the photos.
I was surprised how difficult it is to pick a red. Trying to stay away from a fire engine look or a old 1930's alfa. It took a couple weeks of spraying out samples. Perfect Reflections in Hayward Calif painted the car. The car had been restored a few years ago. All it needed was a color change. I will post some pictures when the car is put together.
Stunning color, Manny. Not that you need confirmation, but having seen PR's work, there's no question of their talent. --Dan
Here is the car before paint. It was in good shape. Just didn't like the orange. Also, need to do some suspension tuning. Image Unavailable, Please Login
An amazing car. I'm surprised how high it appears to sit on the suspension though. From that angle it looks like it was made for off-roading!
Thanks Manny! It looks like the previous paint was pretty recent. Do you know the original color or the history of the car? Regards, Art S.
The original color was kind of orange. Don't know for sure the exact hue. The car had been totally stripped in the late 80's and over restored - like a little hotrod. The car was raced in the USA east coast (Watkins Glen and Air force Bases, etc). 0348MM was a late series 250MM. It had a short competitive life because of the introduction of the 340/375MM. It mostly raced and struggled against the larger 340MM and 375MM'S of Cunningham and Kimberly. http://www.barchetta.cc/english/All.Ferraris/Detail/0348MM.250MM.htm
