Anyone have any photos of a R. Corsa car next to a R. Scuderia car? they are both great colors but I was thinking of a R. Scuderia as a change from the more traditional Rossa Corsa hat I currently have.

    Thanks.

photos won't really tell you. Try to find a rosso scuderia which is common on stradales. I have seen them side by side and my only comment is that scuderia is a lot more orange.

I did the same thing with the 430 I ordered. It is R Scuderia and I still love R Corsa.

Scuderia is only good if you want to see your car on TV. It shows better in that color and Scuderia is a much closer match to Marlboro Red

On photos you dont see it as clearly like in the sun. The orange faktor of the rossoscuderia is heavy. For me i don't like orange so scuderia isn't a good choice. I made an mistake some time ago when i decided between rosso corsa, alfa red and rosso scuderia that i choosed rosso scuderia out of an photo. And in real in the sun i doesn't like the result much :( On a cloudy sommer day rosso scuderia looks good and red but without clouds its orange also it doesn't like fake light in the garage then it looks like orange mudd or something :)

But if you look at the ingreedience its clear orange ->

    Rosso Scuderia :
    orange : 522,9 gramm
    red : 485,4 gramm
    white : 58,0 gramm
    blacktoner : 18,5 gramm

    Rosso Corsa C2 :
    red : 527,4 gramm
    orange : 328,8 gramm
    purpur : 148,9 gramm
    brilliantyellow : 35,2 gramm

My posted formula for the rosso corsa was for the 1997-xxxx Rosso Corsa C2. But there is also an Rosso Chiaro-Corsa from 1983-1997 it has

    red 609,8 gramm
    redtoner 289,7 gramm
    purpur 67,5 gramm
    blacktoner 47,9 gramm
    white 24,0 gramm

maybe this was used befor 1998?

They are about the same as black and white.
If you see them in real life, especially in natural sunlight the difference is obvious. One is Orange and one is Red

Samy, i found this article online :

The color was not determined by the country the car was made in, nor by the nationality of the driver(s), but by the nationality of the team that entered the vehicle. For example, a yellow Ferrari 156 was entered and driven in the 1961 Belgian Grand Prix by Olivier Gendebien from Belgium, scoring 4th behind 3 other Ferrari 156 painted in red, as they were entered by the Scuderia Ferrari itself, but driven by Americans Phil Hill&Richie Ginther as well as German Wolfgang von Trips.

These national colors were mostly replaced by sponsor liveries since 1968, but unlike most other teams, Ferrari always kept the traditional red. The shade of the color varies, though. Since 1996, the Ferrari F1 cars are said to be painted in a brighter, nearly orange red, in order to fit better to their tobacco sponsor. In recent years, these traditional colors have resurfaced in some cases, eg. the green Jaguar Racing in F1 as well as the blue on current Renault F1 cars, which was originally contributed by a tobacco sponsor. When BMW re-entered F1 in 2000, they also made sure that the cars of WilliamsF1 were painted white and blue.

Marlboro Red is actually much deeper in tone than Rosso Scuderia, which really only looks orange in artificial light, and then particularly when that is imaged with a digital camera.

I have several hundreds of quality traditional film ambient light photos taken at GPs in the Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro era and they all show red cars, not an orange one in the bunch, which was the on site experience.

Do not confuse Marlboro Red with the International Safety Orange McLaren used when associated with P-M, it much more similar to the bloodish Rosso Corsa the F1 team used in used in 1995 (paradoxically the red used in the Marlboro logos on the cars at that time were considerably lighter in tone than that used on the packaging, as well).

So you're saying the color on Ferrari F1 cars (since 1996) is called Malboro red? That's the official name? And Rosso scuderia isn't really the same?

1995 and before...what was the official name? Rosso corsa C2?
    Or something else?

Someone has a site that shows every different kind of red they've used during the years.

I've always been a Rosso Barchetta fan myself, but that's for another thread.
