found this on Google http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=8851199070825595194&q=ferrari&pr=goog-sl sorry about the long link, don't know how to make it smaller.
Nice video The gearbox in the F40... is it really that hard to shift? There were many, many difficulties in getting the car into gear... some of the changes were hamfisted.... downshifts actually seemed better than upshifts... Ol' Jacques should have an idea or two about H patterns after an F1 career in Frogmobiles & Willies... The other thing I found interesting was the engine note on throttle application... it was like all the power couldnt get to the ground.. stut stut stuttering around... like the driver was feathering it, or slight clutch slip maybe? Does this talk to FF's point of an F40 struggling to get its grunt to the road in that other thread? Magic car.. the speed is awesome
and another thing i noticed was that the car was shaking alot, but the sound was awsome and they didn't show alot of the outside of the car.
I've seen this video before and had all the same thoughts as you guys about power to the ground/gear changes etc. it still sound awesome and it's scary fast!! WHEN he gunned it, the speed was amazing. even faster than my car
well...no helmet's a giveaway ....clearly he wasn't pushing at all...just going for a bit of a drive. i have to say i reckon race drivers are very brave hopping into other peoples' very fast cars and driving them very fast, having no idea about how they've been maintained, condition of tyres etc etc etc. Gil's car lost a suspension bolt once coming onto the main straight at PI. Thankfully, Gil drives like an old woman, so it didn't matter much and no damage was done....but what if it had happened on one of noske's 1:30 laps? *shudder*
the commentary made quite a few mistakes. for a start...i took mine to the supermarket AND maccas many times!
The vid is not that great, there are alot better out there i have alot of real footage which is quite big, but way to big to post! but its always good to see Any F-car footage
