Has anybody gotten the "run flat" option on the 430 tires. This is an option that I would consider. Hate to be stuck in the middle of Idaho with no spare tire.

I have no firsthand experience, but my dealer says "not with 10 foot pole". Harsh ride and seriously compromised handling.

Thought about it, but I am going to get the TPMS only instead of the packaged option with the TPMS and runflats. I heard the same thing about the performance BTW. I also checked to see if the runflats were an integrated system with the wheels (I read that somewhere on this forum). I checked with the dealer and apparently they are not, so that rumor is false.

I have heard that the new Goodyears run flats are not that far off from the other performance tires either in ride or handling - Maybe at 10/10ths on the track in terms of handling - As for a bit harder ride, I was born and bred on 930 turbos, so it can't be nearly as bad as that! (as well, ever drive a vette or viper?)

My dealer told me to stay away from it. My other cars have run flats and the tires seem okay to me.

I had run flats on two other cars and pulled them off with the first week. I'm going with Bridgestones

I asked the dealer about the TPMS when specing out my 430 and was advised against it. He said in the Maranellos it was a difficult to use and problem prone setup. He had a lot more specifics about then that I can't remember now. It is certainly possible the system is now better but I would investigate thoroughly about how its used, programmed, re-programmed, etc. before ordering. By the way, 430's come equipped with a compressor and can of runflat stuff.

I was told the tread pattern is very attractive and that the option is about $2k. Seems like for $2k you can have someone flat bed it but in the wrong place at the wrong time, the guy with the run flats may come out on top.

Thanks for all the info. I haven't yet spoken to Sean Harris as my number has not come up yet. So far I am still leaning towards the option. I or my wife don't
want to mess with a flat tire. Anybody with the option on their 430 care to chime in? TIA
