Does anyone know what a 308 with a supercharger will do going from 0-60?
As with most questions about performance, the answer is "It Depends..." - Which type of supercharger (Rootes, vs Lysholm vs Vortec) - How mush boost is being run. (Vortec systems are typically 6-8 psi boost, Lysholm can be up to 20+ psi boost. - Which 308 model (US spec cars are several hundred pounds heavier than Euro spec cars, Spyders are heavier than Berlinettas. Also tires, clutch, etc. even the driver can significantly affect the answer.
With around 6 PSI of boost, which would be perfectly safe for the rest of the drive train, figure about 30% more HP. If a 308 can do the 1/4 in 15 seconds normally, then it would do it in around 13.6 with the additional 30%HP. 0-60? I have no idea and don't know any reliable way to calculate it. But I'd guess that it would probably move it to the 5.5 sec range under perfect driver/car conditions.
It's all in the setup. I drove in MK_E's supercharged QV (before he started the V12 project). It was the quickest car I've ever been in with the exception of a worked out 427 Cobra. Mark had over 500hp and everything needed to get the HP to the wheels. He started out in 2nd gear, feathered the throttle, and pinned me back in the seat. Incredible car.
I have a 308 with a supercharger. I've never bothered to clock it, just to dyno it (350hp). Why not clock it? For me it's, "who cares?" since every time I punch it, it shoves me back in the seat and puts a big smile on my face. A supercharger really wakes up these cars... it's amazing what an extra 100+ horsepower can do! http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=149899
With 100 more HP it would produce 1/4s in the 12.8 range. That would match the 355! Pretty neat and there's sure no other mod that would produce a fraction of the bang for the buck that force induction will on these cars. I doubt you could get 30HP out of internal mods (pistons/cams/headwork/EFI/whatever) for the same price. And whatever you did to get it would reduce your low/midrange power.
