I've seen in various sources that the chassis of this car was rumoured to still exist in Argentina or USA. Does anyone know more? I know the engine survives separately in Europe.
Hi even Marcel hasn't been able to come up with much on this car. I hace left a thread in the 'Latin America' section of Ferrarichat and we will see if this turns up anything. If you have tine go to google and go into "Ferrari in Argentina" and see if you can find a contact who might know something. My guess this car has just disappeared but let's give it a try. Just one man's opinion. tongascrew
I contacted Cris Bertschi in Argentina (co-author of the new book on Ferraris that were in that country) who responded immediately. He tells me he's never heard of 0083 being over there. So maybe the chassis is still somewhere in the US. The engine is recorded as being with Lawrence Knaack of Long Grove, IL in 1972 (Massini). Is Knaack still around? There's a chance that wherever he got the engine form is where the chassis was then.

The photo is being presented here for research purposes, not for profit, and Marcel was given proper credit (I'm assuming that he owns the copyright to the photo and have not verified this). I don't believe he has ever complained about such use when properly credited and I doubt that there has been any violation of (U.S.) copyright law. Even so, if Marcel personally requests that I remove it, I will be more than happy to do so.
I read the 'reserved rights' bit in the front of the book. All photos are 'Archivo Marcel Massini' (amazing!) and it says photos may be used for 'fair dealing for the purpose of private study, research, criticism or review'. I take it that this thread is research so I hope there isn't a problem. All the same, thanks Marcel!
Hi everybody, As posted earlier, I´ve never heard nor read about this car in Argentina, which only means that I´ve never heard nor read about this car in Argentina, but who knows! Probably there was some confusion with 0071S which looks quite similar. Kind regards. Cris.-
If anyone out there has contact with Marcel Massini and can ask him where he got the info that the #0083 went to Argentina this would be a great help in following the trail of this car. I am e-mailing Italparts to see what they have. tongascrew
I've been in touch with Hans at Italparts about the engine which is what started my interest in this. He's selling it on commisssion, and I don't think he knows anything about the chassis.
