Mind if I ask what GPI charged for your clutch? I'm in the exact same situation and will be going to GT and GPI both for estimates.

Are you saying that DEALERS are willing to buy the car from you for 105-115? Or are they saying thats what RETAIL is for your car?

Its a clean looking car, but to be honest with the market in its current state, if a dealer is offering you 105k, I don't think its a bad deal to take the hassle free sale. Can you get a couple thousand more by retailing it yourself? Yeah, if you have the time to deal with tire kickers....

Again though, I doubt that a dealer would be willing to buy the car for that much.....

You calliing me a liar... I have a Trade in Number at between $105 and $110. The car is well known in the N.W. It is very nice. I Figured if Some F chat member wanted to take it off my hands, better than letting the dealer make $10K.

    Thanks for the help...

the car bone stock would retail for around $110k. a GREAT deal at $105k and a STEAL at $100k.

so with the wheels/clutch/grill its a very nice deal at $110-$115.

I don't believe he called you a LIAR. He wanted clarity over terms. IMO, I agree w/ his assessment. If they are willing to give you b/w 105k and 110k, that's a good number.

Not calling you a liar, just saying that if you can get 105-110 for the car take it. If you are trading it in, there is the sales tax savings, which is another $7000? (7% sales tax?) which makes it a no brainer.

It's appreciated to extend the offer to other members, I'm just saving you time because I don't think anyone is going to jump all over it....

I would agree. I just paid 109(in a private sale) for a nearly perfect example 2000(Dec 2000 built) -F1 with 9000 miles on it, tubi, daytonas, new tires and it's red. Non red cars and a stick usually sell for a touch less than red F1's.

So, if you are getting offered 110 for it, take it and run.

110k trade-in value and writing a check for 110k are two entirely different things.
How much did the dealer offer for the car without a trade?
    85?

That would be my guess. I have been down this frustrating road. Best of luck.

Even as a trade that is a good price...assuming that you aren't overpaying on the new one. When discussing price, NEVER let a dealer know you have a trade, its a way they can hide the profit. For example, if the new car is listed at 160k, but they are willing to go down to 150k.... negotiate that price FIRST. Then discuss the trade-in. Otherwise the dealer looks at your trade first, knows its only work 90k...but says, hey its really clean, I'll give you 100k....on the new car @ $160k!

I guess I am a Liar. The dealer was mistaken... He thought I had a spider..

No worries. The salesman was cool and apoligized for the confusion.

The 360 Market is a little flat. Not sure why, I guess the old Supply and Demand factor at work. I don't need to sell it. I might miss the 6 speed, not sold on the paddle shifter.

Car still for sale. Still in search of a Stradale.

    Thanks for the input.

The deal was $105 - $110 depending on condition being as described. That was a cash offer. They may had a player for a Spider...

The deal is off the table once the dealer realized is was not a spider...

No worries, thanks for the feedback..

What did they offer when they realized it was a coupe? Was this a straight purchase offer or trade in?

If a dealer is going to give you 105-115K for an 01 coupe in a hard to sell color with 15k miles take it and run...very, very fast.
Ferrari dealers are offering 105-110k for 01 Spiders in red/tan with under 5k miles.
Your car is most likely worth $80K. Good luck with the sale
