02 360's on, bought from the US, alot cheaper.

I have been looking at an 02 F1 360 Spyder. It looks like it will be around $240 C$. I don't want the F1 and would prefer 6 speed but try finding a 02 6 speed in Red, it is next to impossible.

In the US I can get one fairly easily for $160k US espcially for a 6 speed which you find in the US. 02's on need no major modifications as they are compliant in Canada including bumpers and restraints. If I am not mistaken just some changes to stickers and such.

PST and GST I would have to pay either way so it is a wash.

So the way I figure it with modifications it would be aroun $162k US x 1.20 Fx x 1.06 duty= $206,000, a savings of roughly $34k. So even if I had to sell it for $20k less because it is US, then it is still well worth a day or two of my time.

Am I missing something here, I would love your thoughts?

 

I want any 360 Spyder in 6 speed with as little options as possible, is it possible to get something around $200k? I saw a 2001 black F1 with lot of options of FOO today for $230k and only 6k km.

I am hoping if I don't get the F1, Red calipers, daytona seats, and tubi exhaust that were in that one, with a little negotiation, do you think a $200k one can be had if I am patient?
